Without exaggeration, this is the best cleanser and makeup remover I have ever used. I was really surprised at the ingredient list of only seven components. I'm used to seeing twenty or thirty in every beauty product on the market. I love keeping ingredient lists simple and was very impressed that Garnier Skin Active Micellar Cleansing Water contains no oil or alcohol and that it is good for all skin types, including sensitive skin. I was also impressed that it contains no fragrance. I've never understood why beauty companies put fragrance in things like eye cream, toner, cleanser, makeup remover, etc. in their products. It seems like those kinds of products wouldn't be safe to use on gentle skin and I imagine that they are harsh on one's skin. Thankfully, Garnier understands that and takes the sensible approach of leaving it out of their products. So what makes Garnier SkinActive Micellar Cleansing Water better than other cleansers and makeup removers? It is extremely gentle on the skin and very effective. Simply moisten a cotton ball or pad with the Micellar Cleansing Water and gently wipe it across your face to remove makeup and cleanse your skin. For mascara and eyeliner, which can be difficult to remove with most cleansers, simply hold the cotton ball or pad over your closed eyes for a few seconds, then wipe away. There is no need to rub or scrub to remove your eye makeup. The first time I used it, I put it through the ultimate test as I had colored my hair at home and needed to remove the little bit of color that gets on the skin around the hairline. This is usually a difficult task that takes several passes with a usual cleanser and plenty of scrubbing. I was pleasantly surprised that all I had to do was gently wipe it across my hairline and it removed every drop. No harsh rubbing or scrubbing was required to remove the most difficult of beauty products to remove. The second time I used it was to remove makeup following a Christmas party. I was exhausted and had a bit of a headache and really didn't feel like taking off my makeup but it is best not to sleep in it. So I sat down at my vanity, poured a little Garnier SkinActive Micellar Cleansing Water on a cotton pad and held it on my closed eye for a few seconds as the directions describe. I was hoping it lived up to its reputation and it did. I did not have to scrub my eye makeup off at all., just simply wipe it across my lid and away it went. I used a second pad to cleanse my foundation, blush and lipstick and again, only a gentle wipe of the pad was necessary. How does it feel on the skin? It is very light and soothing and leaves the skin feeling soft and pure and looking beautiful. The formula is thin so you might not expect it to perform as well as it does, but after trying it out, I'm a believer.
