When the LEGO World Cup Trophy set was first revealed, there were many folks online who said it was ugly. Even I was on the fence about it, but decided to buy it anyway, because I'm obsessed with football/soccer. If we're being totally honest, too, this model is ugly...but really only as ugly—yet somehow still as beautiful—as the real thing. Yes, the real World Cup trophy is kind of an ugly looking trophy. Despite that, though, it is still the most coveted trophy on Earth. What a paradox—an ugly trophy for the Beautiful Game! This set captures that aura perfectly. From across the room, it looks so close to the real thing. It's a bit surreal to have on my shelf. The build is good. The structure is colorful with lots of interesting techniques. The exterior SNOT layers can be a little bit tedious (and a little hard to discern) with all the gold plates and tiles (what else would you expect?!). But, it comes together well. Some parts of the build reminded me of the Infinity Gauntlet too. The minifigure with the mini World Cup Trophy hidden inside is an awesome touch. Beyond holding the trophy up (it's surprisingly heavy!) and pretending you've won the World Cup (I did several times already), there's not much play value. However, there is PLENTY of display value that makes this set a must have for football/soccer fans. 10/10 would recommend!

You build almost the same exact section over and over and over... and i get sometimes that's the way it goes with cool looking Lego sets, but this doesn't even look cool, and not only is it repetitive... it's annoying. You would never know this is a FIFA WC Trophy unless you are a follower of the sport... you probably wouldn't even know it's meant to be a trophy at all.

Got this set today and release day and had had it on my cart moment it had been announced. Build has been relatively satisfying so far and would def recommend to any football lover out there.

In my opinion this is the most creative set Lego has created. They turned an abstract piece of sculpture into an accessible but challenging build. The selection of pieces and color shades is amazing. I love the final product and it makes an excellent addition to my Lego and trophy collection.

Being a Football fan, and building LEGOs as a hobby. I was so excited when I found out that LEGO was doing this set, and I waited until March 1st to get this set. I just finished building it, and it is my favorite set in my entire collection of Lego sets. 10 out of 10 recommended getting the set. It's worth the 200 US dollars.

Awesome product for display purposes. The instructions once I got to the Globe/Ball area could have been a little more clear, but weren't impossible or incorrect by any means. Would highly recommend the final product if you're excited for the World Cup this year.
