The mattress was comfortable when I first started but I noticed a lack of support the more I used it. Moreover I noticed that my side of the bed sunk in noticeably after a nights sleep. I am a large guy (6'4" 240lbs) but I have never had a new mattress sink that quickly. I literally feel like I'm rolling uphill when I want to roll to the other side of the mattress in the morning. This mattress may do what it has advertised but I don't think this mattress is for me.

I researched the mess out of mattresses before making this decision. Some were literally 10x what I paid for Purple and some were similar in form and function. Based on other reviews and having friends that let us lay on theirs, we put the order in. I expected a steep learning curve. I've had trouble sleeping (took over an hour to fall asleep every night) for years and have awakened every morning with back and joint pain for the last few. I'm a large man, sleep hot and a stomach sleeper so I wanted something that worked with all those things. Night #1 - I don't remember shifting around and tossing and turning at all. I also don't remember falling asleep - which is to say all the things I usually think about as I'm falling asleep. And... I rolled out of bed with no back pain. I've already talked three friends into buying one - seriously, there needs to be a referral program!!! I'm your best salesman! We are finishing week #4 on it and every night but one was exactly like that. (Too much on my mind that one night) Icing on the cake? My wife and I just returned home from an overnight anniversary trip to a ritzy hotel that bragged about their beds. I tossed and turned and my back hurts! I can't wait to sleep in my Purple tonight. For my wife, I'd say this. She had a tougher time the first few nights adjusting to it, but still woke up with no back pain or soreness. She's a back/side sleeper. She loves it now after getting used to it. Yes, I'd buy it again. In a heartbeat.

Okay.. so first off I was very excited to buy this mattress from the moment I saw commercials and that it used actual structural engineering to create a supporting bed. When I got it this morning and layed down for the first time my back ached a little on the bed and I was having second thoughts.. BUT, after playing around with the powerbase settings (that I couldn't resist) and finally settling in I decided to try and take a nap even after a full night's rest.. THIS IS WHERE THINGS GET CRAZY... I fell asleep shortly and had the craziest dream. Dream within a dream actually. I was 2 levels deep in the dream realm but then woke up from one. After about 10 minutes on the dream timeline I was walking around and met some of my friends. I realized that they were in my dream and proceeded to tell them because that dream was crazy vivid on its own. As I was telling them this dream I had DejaVu, still physically asleep here on Earth. The rest of the dream was completely lucid after that awakening and was extremely vivid. I just woke up for real about 30 minutes ago and had to come straight here and tell you all. This bed is the real deal.

Waking up with lower back pain and stiff-to-numb legs has plagued me for several years now. The soreness persisted during the day and i could feel it from just bending forward. Three nights on the purple mattress and pillow, and the lower back ache is gone. It's been two months and my legs aren't so stiff anymore. So glad that i don't wake up feeling like a rickety pile of bones anymore. I can even sleep soundly on my side without developing pins and needles in my arm. Purple cradles my body yet provides firm support. Love purple! Best mattress ever!

My 32 yr old wife has had back pain ever since we had our second child...we've seen chiropractors, spine docs, etc. and nothing seemed to work. We tried switching mattresses and tried tempurpedic, and one other brand before trying Purple. After falling victim to the amazing marketing of Purple and loving the price and 100 day trial offer, I thought I'd give it a shot. I kid you not that from the very first night she slept on our new Purple mattress, she has not had any back pain...it's been almost 2 years since she's had relief. Back pain with 2 little kids is amplified and I'm so thankful she has relief! It's been about 3 weeks since we got our Purple and we are both loving it. We also got the sheets, which are the softest, most comfortable sheets I've ever slept on (we both say that it feels like butter when get in our bed), and we also got the mattress protector, platform base, and it came with a free cushion (which my wife uses at her computer chair). I've never written a review on anything before but thought this was worth mentioning. We are totally bought in. Let me know when the IPO is!

We've had the mattress for one month now. The positive thing is when my husband moves it doesn't move the bed, and we stay on the cool side at night. I still have back and shoulder pain in the morning after sleeping. I was hoping that this would be helpful to me after reading other reviews. I'll stick it out for another month to see if anything changes.

My husband and I saved and saved for this purchase, and it does not disappoint! Now, there is such a thing as "re-alignment" when your body is used to poor support (it just took a few weeks for my body to adjust to the amount of support that I now get), but now that I've had the mattress for a while, I feel great. I get better sleep, and my body doesn't hurt the way it used to. Thank God!

I have to say that Purple mattress is one of the best companies that I have ever dealt with. Not only is their mattress well made but it's comfort is honestly unbelievably great! Their power platform is quiet, sturdy and very well made. I have for years slept on a mattress that has destroyed my body. When people say that sleeping on a Purple mattress is like sleeping on a cloud it is absolutely true. I had a couple of slight issues with ordering and delivery but Purple went above and beyond to make sure that I was a satisfied customer...they did more than was necessary without me even asking...like I said...above and beyond. Definitely, choose Purple for your mattress and then buy Purple accessories. I don't think that you'll regret it.

We test drove a Purple hybrid mattress at our son's home for 12 days while house and pet sitting when our son and wife were on their honeymoon. I told my husband, "there's no turning back" after sleeping on this purple mattress and when we returned home I immediately ordered our new Purple hybrid mattress. What I love about it is that I don't toss and turn all night, my hip pain has disappeared, it is cool to sleep on and provides just the right amount of support while feeling like you are sleeping on air. I have even convinced several of my friends to buy a Purple mattress since purchasing our own. It is well worth the money...hands down!

When I first unrolled my Purple Mattress and laid down on it, it seemed very firm (I weigh less than 120 lbs) & I wasn't sure I was going to like it. However, I slept the whole night thru and had the best sleep I've had in a while. I've had back & neck pain for several years now. With my previous mattress (which was new), I woke up in the morning hurting more than when I went to bed. I've had my Purple Mattress for a little over a month now. After adapting to the mattress, I've been sleeping much better and have less pain now than I've had in some time. I also don't wake up in the morning with pressure point soreness. So thus far, I'm very pleased with my Purple Mattress.
