Too firm for me

I adored the feel of purple--buoyant support, like floating on water, or a cloud. It was awesome when laying on my back, but when I flipped onto my side my shoulder would ache within minutes. Wish I could, but I just cannot fall asleep on my back so the shoulder pain when on my side was a problem. I persisted for 5 weeks but purple didn't get any softer for me so I sadly decided to return the mattress. FYI, I'm 5.11 and 140 pounds, and my shoulders are a bit wide. Last thing: the chemical smell of the mattress is still lingering after those 5 weeks.

Best sleep!

I was skeptical about buying a mattress online but was in need of a new one and decided to try it out. It arrive 3 days faster than I thought and I was able to set everything up by myself. I've had the bed for about a week and can already tell I'm sleeping better. It feels like a really expensive bed that will last forever with the standard price of a mattress. I am very happy with my mattress and will look to purple in the future for any purchases.

Best bed I've owned!

My girlfriend and I decided to buy the purple mattress since we both were having trouble sleeping and would wake up sore quite often. We decided on the Purple mattress after a bunch of research online (I'm a pretty big guy - 6'5" 280, so mattresses will normally sag - this one does not, or at least it hasn't yet). Overall, both my girlfriend and I absolutely love this mattress! One thing to note is that there is some adjustment period, and it's real. For me, I had no problem switching right over. I will admit some sleeping positions would bother me for the first few weeks, but it was very minor and I would sleep through the night. However, my girlfriend struggled with the mattress for the first couple of weeks. She would wake up pretty sore and would complain about it, but after a few weeks she was in love and her restlessness was cut in about half. Overall, we both love the mattress and are getting some of the best sleep we have ever had (we wear Fitbits that track our sleep, and it has noticeably improved).

Not right for us....too firm

This mattress is well made and the process of getting it home was very simple. Unfortunately we are several weeks in my husband and I feel as though this is not the right mattress for us. It is much too firm for us. I am hoping the return process is as simple as the purchasing one.

Best Mattress Ever!

My husband and I received our Purple mattress in December, just right before Christmas. The first night on it was absolutely amazing, as well as every night since. We have already talked about only purchasing Purple mattresses in the future. We're with Purple for life! My best advice if you're unsure about buying a mattress online, because trust me we were unsure, is to at least give it a try. That's what we did! We do not regret it at all!

Best sleep I've had in ages

Have been having loads of neck and sever lower back issues, since sleeping on Purple the have virtually disappeared! I am in mid mid 30's and was beginning to think something was seriously wrong with the amount of discomfort I was having, turns out a purple mattress and some nice pillows (not purple brand) were all I needed. I'm am now sleeping in full comfort for the first tome in my life. It's a shame it took 30+ years to figure it out!

If you need a bed with medium cushion and incredible airflow that doesn't make you sweat at night this is it. If you need something more customizable soft on one side hard on the other keep looking. But with their free trial and easy delivery there's really no reason you shouldn't at least try a purple mattress. Best of all if you don't like it they donate it to a local charity or shelter.

I Can Sleep!

I'm 5'7", just under 200#, side sleeper, neck and back pain in the morning. My wife, 5'8", a lady doesn't tell (my guess is 130#), side sleeper, neck and back pain in the morning. The previous mattress was old and in a dire need to be replaced. So far, two weeks in, my wife is loving it and I'm loving it. I was very hesitant at first, did research on 'bed in boxes' for about 3 years (yeah) and the final purchase came down to this and the Brooklyn Mattress. We pulled the trigger on this one and I'm glad we did. FedEx did have some challenges delivering but there was also some snow storms going on at the time. It finally arrived two days later than expected (had to sleep on the couch those two days as the wife and I moved the old mattress out into the garage the morning we thought we were originally getting but can't blame Purple for FedEx). It's a king so moving it was somewhat of a challenge but my wife and I handled it, no problems. Unpacking wasn't a challenge either, however we didn't get the blade they talked about either but made do with a scissors. Unrolling onto the new bedframe we purchased for this mattress was also relatively easy although I think I was more frustrated than my wife for a couple brief moments. I just wanted to lay down. No strong odor, which my wife would have called shenanigans on due to her extremely strong sense of smell, so that was a relief. The mattress seems firm, which would have been another deal breaker for my wife, but after you lay on it, it's like freaking awesome. I have zero problems going to sleep now and waking up I have much less problems with my back pain. I did upgrade my pillow to a different brand pillow and that also helped with my neck pain. My wife's back pains still persist however she claims her neck pains are not as bad and her back pain is not as bad. If there is any negative, it's that my wife says it is a bit chilly - we sleep at 62 degrees at night in southern WI so the trick is layers. She remedied her cold body to using her body pillow again, which she normally uses any ways. I think if threw some flannel sheets on in the winter, she would also be fine. This mattress will be total heaven in the hot, humid days of summer. Overall, would recommend and will probably buy a new one since it does sleep cooler and we have a daughter that sleeps very warm and I'm sure she would love this mattress for the hot summer days ahead.

Second mattress

Hello, my name is Tim Murphy. My wife and I are Purple customers and have a story to share. Five years ago, we got the original Gen 1 Purple Mattress. Surprised by the purple sausage that came in the mail, we didn't know what to expect. Five years of good sleep later was the answer. While it may seem like everything was going well, eventually the mattress started to have issues with comfort, support, and us falling off the edge at times. I reached out to Customer Support with Purple and from the first person a few weeks ago, to the final phone call I made today to close out the ticket, everything has been like... well... sleeping on a Purple. We knew we had a 10 year warranty. Sometimes companies have issues with those. Not Purple. No Representative argued, found fault, tried to upsell us. Nothing. It was just: Address Tim and Clare's issue, make it right, follow through. What a great way to run a company. The old mattress was replaced with a Gen 3 mattress, which is even better than our Gen 1. The Gen 1 was picked up today free of charge from 1-800-GOTJUNK. No issues there, and the day I requested for the pickup was honored without question. All in all, Clare and I are over the moon on how easy the process was. Most companies, especially in 2020, are in a state of angst or panic it seems. Purple did everything right to make sure we were sleeping well. After all, without good sleep, the waking part of the day becomes just a chore. Finally, I have recommended Purple to quite a few friends and family members. My friend in Maryland got your Hybird mattress and says they love it. My cousin got a Gen 3, along with your pillows. Finally, while my Mom did not get a mattress, she did get some of your sheets and a pillow. We love being part of the Purple family. Great company with great people.
