I have had the bed for a few weeks and I'll be honest I am not sold on it yet. It seems so firm. I think I might be too light to actually have it fully support me. I am a side sleeper and I hardly "sink" into it on my pressure points. Its just that I wake up and I don't feel like my spine and neck have been in alignment all night and it makes my back hurt. I will give it more time in case I am one of the ones who goes through a longer adjustment period.

If you are often on the road for work, don't buy this mattress. You will be completely unable to rest while away from home. After having spent any time at all being cradled in such comfort as the Purple Mattress provides the shortcomings of a hotel bed will become all too glaring. You will toss and turn wondering why you left home to start with. You will lie awake hoping in vain that this other, not Purple Mattress might offer some small shred of comfort that will allow you to drift off. But to no avail. Upon returning home from being away you will be unable to interact with your family as your one uninterruptable thought will be to get into your bed at home and sleep.

Purple did an awesome job helping me figure out which bed to get for a mostly side sleeper....and did they pick out the right one! if this was any stiffer (like the hybrid) i probably wouldn't be as comfortable. This is the perfect bed for side sleepers and also back sleepers. (yes its great for more than one position!) I immediately felt the support factor of the purple grid the first time I laid down on it. And my typically tight back already feels better after just a few weeks on the bed. If you are a side sleeper and unsure what bed to get....start with the original. You will save money and also get a super supportive mattress that will make going to bed even more fun and comfy. I am primarily a side sleeper. I've been suffering from back/rib pain for years, sometimes so bad that it would wake me up in the morning and I wouldn't be able to go back to sleep. I tried different memory foam mattresses, putting pillows under my side, etc, and nothing worked. I finally couldn't take it anymore and decided to try the purple, and now my pain is gone! I was somewhat skeptical when ordering but it really works. My boyfriend is a back sleeper and also wakes up with frequent back pain. Now he loves coming over to sleep on the purple because it helps alleviate his pain as well. The service was great. Wonderful experience overall.

Their web site says: "Recycling Purple. The Purple® Bed and its packaging is recyclable!. If we're unable to find a charity in your area, we'll work to find someone to pick it up from you to recycle it or make sure it finds a good home." Not true. We bought a Purple mattress for our daughter in Maine. The mattress itself is great. I'd give it five stars. But it comes wrapped in A LOT of plastic. My daughter contacted Purple for recycling instructions per the web site (quoted above), was told to contact their shippers and the shippers said "no we don't recycle their packaging." So I'd give one star for lack of commitment to sustainable packaging and the most negative review possible for not telling the truth about the recyclability of their products. Purple, you don't deserve to claim environmental cred and then not deliver on it. Please tell the full truth about whether your packaging is recyclable. Hopefully you'll find a way to keep your packaging out of landfills and ultimately the ocean.

I really tried to make it work with the mattress, but I continuously woke up with shoulder pain on both sides. Note: I am a petite sized person. I tried to return or at least exchange it, but I was past my 100 night trial and the returns department were really strict. So, if you're ever having doubts, don't delay!! I am an essential healthcare worker and I delayed because the last thing I was thinking about was how uncomfortable I am!! This is not a priority for me, so I delayed and pushed it back until I kept waking up to sore and stiff shoulders. These two stars basically go to the person that was assisting me, Diana. She really tried to negotiate and ask the returns department to at least give me an exchange, but they wouldn't budge because I was a few weeks over my 100 night trial. I'm pretty disappointed only because I just wish they understood the times right now and would just show a little leeway for its customers. Thumbs down, in my experience.

This is the first time I have written a review. I think the product, the mattress is a good product, but not for me. I bought the mattress wanting a more firm mattress, and loved the idea of the engineering and polymer. Unfortunately, the mattress is too soft. When you sit down on it, you sink, but when you lay down on it, you kind of float! It's kind of weird, but good. The problem for me is that I need a harder surface to lay on. I had a memory foam mattress before this, and it clearly was too giving and cocooning. What I found absolutely amazing was the generosity of the company in their return policy... I would use them again should I find something more to my needs.

Love the bed so far! My husband had been having back problems and we did quite of bit of research online to figure out which bed would be the best solution. He had pretty much created a hole where he was sleeping in our old (very expensive) mattress. I was worried since I'm close to 100 pounds lighter than him that any bed that worked for him would be too firm for me, but it really seems to work great for both of us! My only disappointment is that I ordered a couple weeks too early to get the free seat cushion! :)

I have had the purple mattress for about three weeks now and love it. I was having a lot of neck pain and back pain before. After sleeping on the Purple Mattress, my neck and back pain are gone. It isn't too firm or too soft and gives just enough support for a good night sleep. Love my mattress!

I am not a good sleeper, never have been, but boy, oh boy I am happy to toss and turn on this mattress. It feels like clouds and I love it so much. My husband is an excellent sleeper and can sleep anywhere, and he also loves it. So we've got the full spectrum singing it's praises. My jack russel takes up the whole thing and snores very loud, so even though I don't speak dog, I'd say he also loves it. 10/10.
