I purchased a very well know mattress that had great reviews 2 yrs ago and both my wife and I began to have back pain. Needless to say, after two years of suffering, we finally bit the bullet and bought a Purple mattress. The original mattress we purchased was very pricey and I did not want to give up on it. But my wife and I were so uncomfortable that we had to move on. The Purple mattress immediately gave both of us the relief we thought we might never have after suffering for so long. This is the most comfortable mattress I have ever slept on. This might be due to the fact that I endured back pain for so long. I'm sure there are other mattresses that are equally as comfortable. But I can say, after spending just a few nights on the Purple mattress, my previous beautiful, expensive mattress is on its way to the dump.

Purple is definitely considered family. I do love my mattresses. I also purchased the purple pillow and purple bedsheets. The bedsheets completed my purple mattress experience. Customer service was awesome. My only suggestion is I wish purple would make a toddler mattress i have two toddlers that refuse to sleep anywhere else but my bed. I truly am happy with my purchases. It was money well spent.

This is the mattress I have been waiting for my whole life! My husband and I both have a rare bone disorder called Osteogenesis Imperfecta (OI) also known has brittle bone disorder. We are both very small and very light. I am 3'6" and I weigh less than 60 lbs., and my husband is even smaller. One of the central issues with having OI, especially moderately severe OI as we both have, is scoliosis. I have had two spinal fusions, and in this last fusion I was fused to my pelvis. Every part of my body feels different, each arm is different and each hip is different. This mattress supports all the bends, curves, gaps, and tight spaces in my body. Due to the malrotation of my pelvis, I normally do not make sheer contact with any surface against my back, but this mattress actually supports all the spaces other mattress cannot meet. I talked with other friends who have OI before buying this mattress, and countless others with brittle bone disorder highly recommend this product. I will never sleep on anything else again. I truly urge anyone who needs a gentle, supportive mattress to buy Purple. There are virtually no pressure points created when I lie down. I also find this material easy to turn side-to-side on, as this can be difficult for me without having something to pull on. For chronic pain, lumbar, and pelvis issues - this is the beset mattress out there! If you have any orthopedic issues - this is the best mattress out there! Also, the base frame is really good for wheelchair users. My husband does not ambulate, and needs to be able to transfer side-to-side from his power wheelchair to the bed. This frame is the right height for him to get his wheelbase under the frame to get as close as possible to transfer. Thankfully we will no longer need bed risers on our bedframe! Thank you Purple for creating a life changing product!

So, we have only had our Purple mattress for about a month, but I am thinking this is good. My husband, the cranky one, is still saying that this is going to take some getting used to. I, the uncranky one, am really enjoying a great night of restful sleep.

I feel like this mattress is soft and supportive at the same time. It's also really nice to read in or watch tv because of that. I am an incredibly hot sleeper to the point where it interferes with my sleep and my marriage, I loathe summers and the heat really takes a toll on my sleep. With my purple mattress, things have been so much better. I'm no longer waking up in the middle of the night because I'm so hot and I can turn the air conditioner off at night to save on utilities. I also always used to wake up feeling tired and grumpy even when I was sure to get enough sleep and even though I have always been a deep sleeper but with this mattress I am able to wake up coherent and happy. I really never expected a mattress to change my life so much but all be darned, it has!

This bed, is a purple miracle. I used to have such severe pain waking up in my hips & back that I would have to do an hours worth of stretching while in the bed, before I could get out of it. When I did get up, I couldn't stand straight up for a half hour, forget bending or kneeling. I had trouble going to sleep, like 4 hours of restlessness a night, even with sleep meds, I didn't even dream for years it was such bad sleep. Buying a new spring form mattress didn't help either, had a new one for a year before I found Purple's ad, and relentlessly nagged my husband to give it a try. After I bought this bed, about a week after, my knees & upper back had no pain, after two weeks, I could get out of bed straight away every morning but still had hip pain, after 3 weeks I can fly out of bed like a Ninja when I'm running late & not suffer one consequence. My husband works 24-37 hour shifts and is constantly doing heavy lifting & bending, his back pain has ceased since we have this mattress, he now swears by the very thing he wasn't so sure about us getting. We have since ordered the platform base for our bed, and even a base as a gift, plus 2 pillows. I will say I did have a slight issue with the bed sinking in 2 spots, but over a chat with the service department and providing pictures for them, they replaced our mattress in a flash and even let us donate the old one to Habitat for Humanity. No hassle, no nitpicking, just great friendly service. The sheets are awesomely comfortable too. I don't ever want another kind of mattress, eventually I want to get my kids all one of their own too. It's THAT good. The only thing that is remotely disappointing is the wait for it to arrive, I wish shipping was faster, but ..all good things come to those who wait.

I am happy with my Purple mattress. It's been comfortable for me being a stomach sleeper. On my old pillow top mattress I would wake up with lower back pain. I haven't had any pain with this mattress. I have also had no issue with any powder being on my body or clothes. I know some reviews out there question the powder, but I haven't had any issues at all with that.

I love the idea of the bed and when I first hop into bed, I fall asleep like a baby, however a couple hours later I wake up with severe back pain. I change positions and it's remedied for a good hour or so. But after the nights said and done, I wake up with horrible back pain every morning. I have everything purple and might I say, I prefer my feathery pillow and firm mattress. I'm not the only one either. I would seriously consider googling back pain and the purple mattress. I was the skeptic that said, oh everyone says its so amazing and it has more 5 star reviews than 1 star reviews so I probably won't be affected. Well. I was wrong. But my wife loves it so it will stay, so long as my spine can handle it. Good luck to you all.

I love my purple mattress original. I have bought it over two years ago and I STILL find myself laying on it saying I love my mattress! TWO YEARS!! When is the last time you loved a mattress for two years SOLID. Everyone I show my mattress to falls in love with it as well. I have become a Purple customer for life. The only thing that purple needs to work on is their pillows. The first and second generation pillows lack something to be desired. I have not had a chance to try Purple's newest pillow, but one day I will. The purple sheets/protector are both a must! they feel like sleeping in your favorite t-shirt while being hugged in a fluffy blanket. I have and will continue to buy sheets from purple. I would love to rate Purple mattresses at 6/5, the pillows as 3.5/5, purple sheets/protector 4.5/5 (I had a set of sheet rip a hole once, but purple replaced them with no hassle instantly. Only reason sheets lost half a point)!

Had to put a 3" memory foam topper on this mattress because I got neck and back pain from it that I didn't have prior. What a waste of money. I'm really disappointed. I also purchased the sheets (they already have pillies on them), the expensive purple pillow (it's already too flat to use), and the mattress cover. $1340 down the drain.
