My wife and I previously slept on a King Sealy posturepedic hybrid gel mattress. I hated this mattress pretty much from the start. We only had this mattress about 2 years and within a couple of months it developed a hump in the center where we didn't sleep. We were told from the beginning that we should occasionally lay in the center of the mattress to stop this from happening. We did this as much is possible but it's hard when there are 2 people. So we bought two Twin XL Purple mattresses with the intention of later purchasing an two Twin XL adjustable frames. My wife has had some pretty serious back surgery over the last couple of years and laying flat for her is no longer an option. With our old mattress, I tossed and turned all night long. I rarely got a good night sleep. So, I don't know how much of my experience comes from the fact that I was miserable with our previous mattress but my 1st night on the Purple mattress was absolute bliss! I slept better than I had in over 2 years. I also found that since I was sleeping so soundly, I would wake up earlier as 6 or 7 hours of deep sleep is all I really need. Started out as one new mattress in July for Mom and Dad. Turned into oldest had to have one for his birthday in January and then other two got theirs in May as early birthday presents. Most boys want video games, mine had to have the purple mattresses!!! We all love them. My youngest everyday since he got it just thanks us and tells us how much he loves his bed.

Loved the mattress for the first 6 months then had to rotate it, after another 6 months Rotate again. I have a groove where I sleep and it's killing my back. After nearly 2 years I had to replace it. I love the pillow but it is way too flat for me to sleep on my side. I have to stack it on another pillow which works great until the bottom one goes flat for the heavy purple pillow on top. I think it could be a great product but need to improve on the longevity. Is there anything you guys can do?

I will openly admit that I have wanted a purple matress for a very long time now. I finally have one in my home! Yay! The best sleep I have had in years! My only complaint is, after sleeping on it a few days I realized I needed just a tad bit more softness for my lower back and shoulders. I bought the original but really wished I could have gotten the customized model. My boyfriend and I have been at war over mattresses, toppers and pads for 5 years now, since we can't agree on feels and adjustments, and we are both completely satisfied!

I have been very pleased with this purchase. It was easy to set up and put together. I love the height of the bed, and it's very comfortable to sleep on. Has the feeling of a firm mattress with the comfort of a soft mattress. Both of my kids have tried it out and say that they were very happy with it. My daughter wants one and we plan to purchase one for her room next. I would recommend this product to my friends and family.

I have terrible arthritis and have loved sleeping on my purple mattress. I don't have the pain issues I was having with my pillow top and now I actually sleep all through the night instead of waking up constantly to change positions because I hurt. My husband loves it too and says he doesn't have the aches and pains he was having before. Our wold is certainly a better place since we decided on purple!

Not only is the bed very firm, but the only thing the company can do about it is to tell you to lose sleep for 30 days and then magically you won't have sore ribs and black eyes from lack of sleep anymore. I'm still approaching my 30 days but still plan on returning it as I am barely able to work at my job due to this lack of sleep. I don't understand how they expect people to just wait it out. Like we don't have jobs or need sleep?

This best is the best. I wake up fully rested all the time. No back aches or body aches for that matter. I highly recommend it to everyone. The cons to this bed is that you cant wrap bedsheets to the mattress, so it's likely to get dirty. Also you might wake up sweaty, maybe it's just me or my house. But that's something to know. Other than that it's a great bed. I highly recommend it

There is something magic about the purple mattress. When it pops out of its cocoon and you first lie down on it you think; "Okay, kinda firm mattress, not much bounce to it. BIg deal." But when you wake after a good night's sleep you realize that somehow you never knew there was a mattress under you. Purple supports you so well and evenly that you aren't sore anywhere, there are no pressure points, and you are relaxed and refreshed. The idea of soft and firm mattress somehow isn't relevant any more, the evenness of the support is perfectly distributed and just the right amount for every part of your body. Unlike other types of foam, the mattress is thermo-neutral, neither hot nor cold. If you roll out of bed for a midnight snack your partner will never know, there's no bounce or movement transmitted through the mattress. We both think this is the most comfortable mattress we've ever slept on, and priced near the lower part of the mattress spectrum it's a real bargain. Oh, yes, spring for the sheets. They are a strange stretch jersey sort of fabric, but very comfortable and stay where they should be. A color other than white would be nice, but now I'm quibbling.

I am writing this review after only one night on my Purple mattress... I AM IN LOVE!!! A little background on me. I am a single (mention that cause I sleep alone not for dating purposes lol) 30 y/o male, 5'8", 190 lbs (more muscle than fat) stomach sleeper. I am an Army Vet and an RN in an ER (more on that later). First, to address the picture of the Purple blade. I don't know if I was just excited and wasn't taking my time, but I got the under portion (not pictured) of the safety blade under the plastic and as I was straddling the mattress I was cutting down and between my legs, as I was going along the plastic piece broke and the blade went right into my thumb!!! :( Now, I am not blaming Purple for this. I should have been cutting away from my body and did it a little safer, but I still wanted to put that in the review so future buyers can learn from my silly mistake....and so you don't get blood on your pretty new white mattress (luckily I didn't). Anyways, the Army, working in healthcare, being a stomach sleeper, and when I was overweight (260 lbs) has put a number on my lower back. I started working out more and lost over 70 lbs and STILL had back pains. So I started doing research for a new mattress. I previously slept on a cheap no-name inner-spring mattress that was several years old. I found that what I needed was a firmer mattress that maintained my spinal alignment - enter Purple. Love at first sight (lay down). I haven't had a full night of straight sleep in years!!! I constantly have to try to lay on my back with a pillow under my thighs to take the pressure off my lower back (a position that is IMPOSSIBLE for me to sleep in) or lay on my side with a pillow between my legs; eventually going back to my stomach and waking in pain. Last night was probably the best night of sleep I have ever had!!! I will say that I am still a little achy and it is my thought that I will still need some time for my body to adjust to the mattress as my spine has been out of wack for years. Purple even stated this in its instruction paper that some people need up to 30 days to fully adjust, so I am optimistic that the pain will subside completely in that timeframe. Purple is exactly as advertised and has exceeded my expectations. The mattress cradles my body perfectly in the correct areas without a feeling of sinking, stays cool (I also sleep hot), and just feels like my spine is in perfect alignment which creates it's famous "floating" sensation. I just cannot state enough how happy I am with this mattress and I would highly recommend it for stomach sleepers. I saw Purple's other options with a taller purple grid and all the other bells and whistles, but I stayed with OG mattress as it is my interpretation that this was the firmest options they offered. Very satisfied with my selection. I hope this review was helpful. Definitely recommend doing your own research, read reviews, watch videos via YouTube with multiple people, and see what is the best option for you (and your spouse if applicable), but I definitely recommend Purple for my fellow stomach sleepers and it even feels great in the other positions. If you're considering it, go for it! You spend 1/3 of your entire life sleeping. Treat yourself!!! Oh and my dog loves it too lol
