The mattress gives great support but I almost feel too much pressure against my ribs, shoulders, and hips. I think 1" more on the grid would make the mattress perfect but overall I'm satisfied and have already shown off the new bed to all my friends. It's just BARELY too stiff for my personal preference.

This is the comfiest mattress I've ever slept on! I love the way it conforms to the shape of your body, but it doesn't retain that shape when you're not on the bed so it's constantly adjusting to how you're laying on the bed. I would recommend this mattress to anyone, especially those who have back pain at night. The sheets we got with the mattress were pretty amazing too! Overall, incredibly satisfied.

We really enjoy our new Purple Mattress it has helped both myself and my wife with our back problems. Or so we thought we had back problems it was really our not right for us mattress. Now that we have the Purple Mattress we no longer have any back problems. Thanks;)

Purple is soft, yet firm; Firm yet, soft. Some nights it feels very soft and comfortable; other nights it too feels firm and uncomfortable. It usually feels soft under my torso, shoulders and bottom - those body parts are heavy enough to sink in to the purple grid and there is little pressure there. Lighter parts of the body: lower legs and arms feel like they almost float on top of the mattress and get no benefit from the purple grid - the "arm floating" somewhat uncomfortable. Also, the firmness/floating feeling extends to the head, so the pillows that worked on your last bed don't feel the same on a purple. I've bought three different types of pillows since buying the purple trying to get it right. I find myself using the multiple pillows to prop up my hands/forearms at night since it feels like my elbows are hyperextending given that my torso sinks into the bed and my arms to not. I've often thought to myself that the body can likely adjust to anything in 30 days (i.e. I could adjust and train my body to sleep on a bare floor in 30 nights) and that is why purple makes you sleep on it for at least 30 nights before returning it. Perhaps the research purple did was on human psychology and the reaction to an alteration of body mechanics rather than mattress technology. Who knows. Either way, it is not our forever bed. We are taking advantage of the donation/recycle option, which purple has made incredibly easy. Customer service has been awesome.

Ordered my mattress. Was promised that it would ship within 3 days. It did not ship for several weeks. Every time i checked they told me a different day. Then was told i was getting a special upgrade which was actually just the same mattress with a new cover that they had switched to but they made me think i was getting something special for the long wait. Customer service was friendly but never actually answered any questions. Always felt like i was getting the run around. Didn't get my free bedding as a promotion for several weeks after the bed came. Bed is ok but certainly not worth all the trouble. Wouldn't do it again.

I am enamored with my Purple bed! I'm a nurse and work 12-14 hour shifts and by the end of my day, I can't wait to crawl into my purple! With a job that's hard on your back, your mattress can either be your best friend or your worst enemy and me and my purple are thick as thieves! I've actually been called a "purple ambassador" by friends after I long windedly describe my love for my bed! Buy one! You won't regret it!

This mattress is so bouncy it's almost impossible to sleep on unless you lay perfectly still. While that may work for single people, it does not work for couples. While it feels soft and squishy in the store, it feels much firmer and more springy at home. I would not recommend this bed and suggest a different thickness or brand.

We had been sleeping on the "famous brand' memory foam mattress for the last seven years and never really liked the feeling of sinking into the mattress and then trying to get out of a hole. We did out research on the latest online bed in box companies and Purple really stood out for us due to its unique purple layer. Delivery was good and with two people we got the purple egg roll to our bedroom. Unwrapping was a snap and we had a great night sleep the very first night. It is provides support where it is needed and you don't feel trapped in the mattress. The first night I slept right up to my alarm whereas previously I would wake in anticipation of the alarm, so I was very sound asleep. I highly recommend the Purple mattress!

I was looking for a cooler mattress that isn't made of spring coils. I thought purple was good for support but unfortunately this mattress hurts. I tried putting a topper on it, didn't help. I had to return to sleeping on my softer memory foam mattress; might be hot but at least I don't wake up in pain and have pain all day.

I think it's comfortable but a bit too firm now that we got the platform. My husband on the other hand doesn't like it because he said it's too flat and wants something softer. He is used to our Westin heavenly pillow top bed we had before and misses the slight curvature I am guessing.
