This bed was the best investment I ever made got more sleep in this matress compare to any matress I've ever owned in my life time. Also this matress gives me a fresh day kinda feeling when I get up in the morning no more lower back pains when you wake up. I love it so much I bought the pillows, seat cushions and lumbar support with those to support my back and butt I feel like sitting on cloud.

I was skeptical about purchasing a mattress that I was unable to try out before buying, but the 100 day return policy and all of the reviews online helped me to make my decision. We wanted to upgrade our mattress to a king and, for the price that the Purple mattress was offering, as well as reviews for comparisons to really expensive mattresses out there, we figured it was worth a try. Let me first say that after moving this thing up our stairs and putting it on the new foundation we assembled, my wife and I both had some back pain (the king mattress weighs 140 lbs and we had to navigate a rather narrow passage). So, if you first lay down on it and your back hurts it might be from moving the mattress! However, the "burrito" allowed us to get it into the space that we wanted, so we were happy about that. The first night we both slept without even moving! We were so surprised that we were so comfortable immediately, and we felt that there was no "adjustment period." We love this mattress and it truly feels different than anything we have ever laid on...soft yet firm, and immediately responsive. And there is hardly any motion transfer - this was a big issue with us in the past if someone was moving around, coughing, or up and down throughout the night. I was also surprised that there was hardly any "off-gassing" smell and it was quite pleasant - sweetly aromatic and nutty smelling, only lasting for 30-60 minutes. This is an amazing product, and it seems like they are using good non-toxic materials for the environment (from what I can gather). Amazing mattress! I was a believer after night one, and we are now two months into owning this product. Foundation note: most foundations are fine, but I was a bit weary of ours as it says "500 lb limit, excluding mattress) but it is fine as the weight distributes evenly across the boards. Most king mattresses weigh 1/2 to 2/3 the weight of the Purple mattress, so that was a concern - but everything seems fine. We have a Zinus platform bed, as we wanted something with a stained wood finish to match our woodwork. We thought about buying the purple platform base but we didn't want to use a dust ruffle to hide the metal legs.

I love this mattress! First time in years I've not woken up with pain in my hips and shoulders. Because SCIENCE!!! I'm so happy I could cry. We spend a third of our lives sleeping. We should be supported and pain free and we are with Purple! Thank you!!!!!!!

I was really excited for this mattress, and upon getting approved through Affirm I was elated when I placed the order for my mattress. After paying and talking with purple, they told me they would not know when my product would be arriving until it was actually shipped. This kinda threw a wrench in things as I was leaving for a business trip in the coming week. They told me a soon as I got a tracking number I would be able to call FedEx and place a hold on the shipment. Fast forward a few days and purple emails me letting me know that my mattress has been shipped, no surprise - the delivery date is one day after I leave for a 3 week business trip. I then call FedExas purple advised me to and requested for them to place a hold on my mattress delivery date. They informed me that normally this would be not a problem and it's called a "vacation hold" but unfortunately purple no longer allowed vacation holds on their shipments (as it's up to the shipper, their expense). Now most people could have it held at a FedEx location for pick up when they get back but I physically am not able to drive for medical reasons, so that was not an option for me. I spoke with a FedEx manager who put a note on the shipment asking them to hold delivery until a certain date and I even left a note on my door asking the driver to hold it - but the mattress was left on my door step. I live in a condo in Miami Beach, not necessarily the best place for packages of any sort to be left on the doorstep. I contacted purple multiple times and asked them to have someone please come pick up the mattress. They told me the only thing I could do was cancel my order and then they would send someone to come pick up the mattress and take it back and then I would have to re-purchase the mattress. This is so far from quality customer service it's insane. Luckily when I returned home the mattress was there, but had been rained on, and was wet inside and out. after opening and allowing the mattress to dry I really have done my best to try and adapt to this mattress the past few weeks but unfortunately I don't think it's for me. I'm not sure if being wet and sitting out in the sun for weeks damaged it but this mattress is just not as advertised. The gel layer on top is not as bouncy or as soft to the touch as the pillow is, and truthfully I wish I did not give my old mattress away because I would be sleeping much better on that. While I'm on that topic, the pillow is an absolute disaster. I am a 6 foot 215 pound male who sleeps on his side often - and this pillow is nearly impossible to use. The pillow is maybe two or 3 inches thick, and my neck is crooked down to even make contact with the pillow when on my side. If you're a back sleeper this pillow is probably great, it feels good to the touch, the gel is super awesome - it the mattress get half as good as the pillow I'd be happy. If the pillow were 2x thicker I would love it! Overall, pretty unhappy, will be returning this and ordering from another company.

I tried this bed in a local store. Of course, it was WAY softer because a million people layed on it before I got there. The bed I got is really not what I was expecting. While it does not cause me pain, I do not find it comfortable and I wake up super early in the morning, tossing and turning. Purple has offered to exchange it, but I'm really reluctant to try (another) bed without having any idea how it will feel, especially at a significant price increase. Overall, I'm just super sad that I can't walk into a bed store and find a comfortable bed, anymore. I'm definitely going to need to return this bed. It is not a long term option for me.

I can't say enough about how this mattress has affected my life. I had so many issues related to sleep including insomnia, lack of energy, and aches and pains. For me all of these issues were fixed within the first week of using this mattress and now in week three the benefits of the quality sleep just keep adding up. It's so nice to wake up in the morning and not feel run down and sore. Even if I only have time for six hours of sleep I wake feeling fully refreshed and ready for the day. It's hard to describe the feeling of sleeping on the grid but it's like your body is being supported perfectly and there is no sensation of something pushing back up on your body. I am a multi position sleeper and this mattress excels for every position. Add to all of this the fact that the Purple customer support has been among the best I have experienced from any company and I just can't see ever owning another mattress. I wish I would have made the move to purple sooner.

Fantastic material on top layer is truly unique. I don't think it will ever break down which is great. Super cool, almost cold , to sleep on. Which I think is also a very good thing. The bad news is that I think the mattress is to firm. I think the underlying foam under the purple stuff is to firm. Maybe it needs to me in order to support the purple part. I am 6'3 and 225 pounds. My shoulder hurts when sleeping on my side. They say it's not supposed to happen. But it does. also my back is not good and i'm still not comfortable because it doesn't 'give' enough. So I put memory foam 2" topper on it and it helps a lot. Almost perfect. But now, since memory foam sleeps hot , the mattress is no longer cool and I'm not really getting some of the benefits of the way the purple stuff works since I have covered it up. You really need to sleep directly on top of the purple stuff. Even putting a regular sheet on it makes it way firmer because sheets don't 'give'. So while this may be a great material it is the sheets that make it to stiff. I tried the jersey knit sheet and I don't like it. So with the memory foam I have a good balance. It's better than my old mattress but not perfect. I wish they would make a softer model or invent some other 'toper' that makes it softer and can be used with a regular sheet.

I did a TON of research before buying my first new mattress in over ten years! I looked at specs, pricing, and reviews, and finally asked my chiropractor for a recommendation. He said "purple mattress" hands down! I upgraded to the king sized mattress and invested in some jersey sheets to be sure I got the best experience. I'm. In. Love. I'm sleeping better (as documented by my FitBit), and my dog sitters are raving it, too! All things considered, I would highly recommend the Purple Mattress!! :)

My wife and I decided to try the Purple mattress when they still had just one version. About a week after we bought ours they launched a new offering of 3 mattress types. A week later they cut this to 2, so I am not sure they are really convinced what they want! As with many couples we need a middle ground; I would be happy sleeping in a rock, my wife needs pressure point relief. So the purple mattress concepts attempts better than most to address both pressure point relief and support. My wife is extremely happy with the mattress; I remain shocked still every night, now nearly 3 weeks on, as to how soft it feels at first. I sleep primarily on my back, and I wake up feeling fine, so I presume I am getting the support needed in my back. But I can say honestly that I still find the feeling of the mattress crazy soft. But I love traveling to China just to sleep on their mattresses, which are like wooden boards, so maybe I am not the best one to ask for an opinion. Two other comments, our king sized mattress does not have handles, and that is a huge negative; admittedly it is not something you move often, but if you need to do it once, without handles, it is really hard (remember as Purple likes to point out - it weighs 145 pounds!); so add some common sense to all the engineering know-how guys! Secondly, when you unroll it, it is upside down...it weighs 145 pounds, it is roughly;y 7 feet by 7 feet, and has NO HANDLES; not so easy to flip it. Another common-sense shortcoming. In summary, I think the jury is still out. I am very concerned about long term (3 year plus) durability resilience. It is a comfortable sleep, but I am hardly blown away by it. Time will be the real test. I can tell you that both my wife and dog are far more enthusiastic though than I, so that's a good thing. Last advice, follow your competitors and launch a doggy bed too.

I recently bought the purple mattress (the original purple mattress) because my old mattress was just that; really old. There was actually a large lump in the mattress where my lower back would be when laying on it. I believe laying on that lump for years was the underlying cause to my back pain. Since switching to the original purple mattress, pain has been very minimal. Because of the way the purple mattress is, it's supports my lower back. I'm no doctor and even though I'd believe it if they were, I don't think the people that purple are doctors either, so I can't say this will 100% help your back problems because this is just my experience. However, if you're switching from an old mattress to a purple mattress you're going to have a positive experience regardless. I love my purple mattress and will probably end up getting my mother one as well.
