These are a great pair of shorts. I think the length is perfect for sports. It is constructed well and the fabric is quite breathable. It does have a thick elastic, which my son didn't love. Comes with a drawstring as well. Has pockets too! Sizing seems small though-I have 14/16 and it fits my 11 year old.

He really likes the 2" thick waist band and drawstring, which help to keep them in place while playing hard, especially with his skinny frame. The fit (size L 10/12) fit as expected for my 11-year-old. The drawstring is also sewn in the back so you can't accidentally pull it out of the shorts. It is always a pain when you have to try to thread it back through. The shorts are light weight and comfortable. There are pockets, but they don't have a closure so I would not keep anything important in there while playing.
