For the price it is awesome. Produces a lot of ice quickly. Yes it does melt in the holder, but we just put them in drink tumblers and place them in the fridge. Makes plenty of ice for 2 people using it all day. We bought this for our camper, it has a small footprint, and starts making ice in only a few minutes. Great for camping.

Makes ice only, does not keep it frozen. This seem like a feature that should be included.

I guess it's about as good as one would expect for the price. It's not that quiet. Not good if you have an open kitchen / family room as do we. I put it in our pantry/laundry room so it's tolerable. Be aware - once Low Water light comes on, you must turn it Off %26 back On after adding water. Why? Makes no sense. Should be automatic! If you use much ice in large glasses, like we do, the capacity is marginal at best. The ice chute does not allow the bin to completely fill unless you spread the ice out. Maybe should have bought the larger capacity Frigidaire? Bought it to test as alternative to the extremely noisy icemaker in our 6 year old Frigidaire side-by-side fridge. That one can be heard all over the house - even in the garage next to the kitchen.

This is my first ice maker. I was very excited to have it and still am, however things to get used to: the noise (fan, ice dropping, overall noisy), the taste (I used spring water and the ice to me tastes like plastic). I have opted to just only plug it in and use it as needed. It won't stay plugged in 24/7.

I have a question about this ice maker, is once the ice is done and you start getting ice does the ice in the machine starts melting? I had an experience with one and didn't like that issue, before me buying I would love to know please be honest thank you
