Normally, I'm hesitant to purchase a more expensive brand of toilet paper as I really am price conscious. The basics of toilet paper to me are that I should be reasonably clean after my bowel movement, and that I'm not bleeding. The store brand toilet I had been using till I began using this product often was irritating, and very thin. Sometimes, I would wipe too hard and scratch myself. However, that brand is reasonably priced and that is why I routinely used it. Upon my first use of Charmin, I felt at ease due to the thickness of the paper and how soft it felt while wiping. I can say without a doubt that the product lives up to its claims. The paper itself is a very high quality toilet paper and will not clog toilets. Those with very sensitive nerves should find this toilet paper to be a relief and more tolerable than dryer and thinner toilet paper products. Overall, I would recommend Charmin Ultra Strong to those who are using generic thin products and are in need of a product that is more comfortable to use. As far as existing products on the market that are similar to Charmin Ultra Strong, I am unable to contribute a justified opinion as I've been using the brand of toilet paper I currently use most often for many years.

I always purchased the cheapest available, resulting in terrible experiences. The Charmin Ultra Strong toilet paper has truly made me a believer! It is soft to the touch and has the strength to clean without tearing!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was very surprised at just how strong Ultra Strong Charmin was! I had used Charmin in the past and it was too soft, fingers poked through, it ripped easily. Well not Ultra Strong Charmin! There was not one incident of fingers poking through or a sheet that ripped. It was truly ultra strong without losing softness. It is a nice texture, thick enough and soft on your bottom! It came off in full sheets which I love. I get so frustrated when tp rips off uneven. The roll lasted a long time. You don't need to use as much since it really is strong. The bears on the packaging have no impact on the product but sure are cute to look at! I have to say, I have made the switch now that I have tried Charmin Ultra Strong! You no longer need to compromise softness for durability. It also has yet to clog the toilet.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Been a long time Charmin Ultra Soft user, but was disappointed with the recent changes that has been made. Tried out the Ultra Strong and while the Ultra Soft has become less softer, still would prefer it over the Ultra Strong. It felt pretty rough and had to alternate rolls with the Ultra Soft. Not sure if I really needed the "Strong" since I don't think I've really had the Ultra Soft "give out" on me. While a better tissue than the bargain brand or Cottonelle I've recently tried, I would reluctantly go back to the downgraded Ultra Soft.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It's a little awkward buzzing about TP. But I did it anyway. I started out bzzing my spouse and then family before friends. I had used this kind before so I knew I loved it. It's very strong yet soft. Those are my two selling points. My spouse asked why we didn't always use it. I confessed I'm a sale shopper. Fine. I'll buy it from now on.

I have been using Charmin for sometime. I try other toilet paper but go back to Charmin. However, I have noticed that the rolls are getting shorrter and shorter. Do they think that we would not notice? I still think they could make a profit and give back the inch that is missing.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The first thing that I noticed was that the rolls were not as wide as the regular roll that we use. That was a little difficult to get used to. However, this is a very good roll of toilet paper. It has a great balance of texture, comfort and absorbability that I am accustomed to with my usual brand. I was pleased to notice that the Ultra Strong was not too linty as with most soft tissue paper, but was comfortable while using. Overall I would not switch from my usual brand due to the width of the Ultra Strong. Only for that reason do I give this product three stars. Great paper, but could use improvement.

While it does clean better than my normal brand it is also twice the price and did not do that much better to justify paying more for it. I would use it more often if it were on sale or cheaper but at this time I will stick to what is familiar. As far as recommending it, I'd say try it in a small pack before you buy it to see how it stacks up with what you are used to.
