I am not a fan of dark roast coffee and most coffee roasters tend to show their coffee beans to be a lighter roast than they actually are. This coffee has no bitter taste even after standing for a while. It is a great choice for breakfast and light meals. It is my new go to coffee in whole beans from Sam's Club. The only reason I gave it four stars is because my favorite variety is Guatemala medium roast and I reserve five stars for it alone.

I set my grinder to a medium coarseness and used a pour-over technique. I could tell the beans had been roasted fairly recently from the nice bloom that developed as I began pouring the 200 degree water over the grounds. This was a pleasant surprise. I have always preferred whole bean coffee, as it tastes fresher when ground right before brewing. Also, I am pleased that this is Fair Trade Certified. Would definitely purchase again.
