It is powerful but with just a little food and water, the motor was so powerful that it produced a burnt odor and the food didn't smell as fresh as I would have like it to. It has great potential and is a beautiful blender with a strong build, but I had that bad experience on the first try. It was disturbing! You must read the whole brochure and never put a little food, the booklet tells you, for such high power.

The first couple of times I used the blender it did not purée the fruit completely for my smoothie. I have found that I need to use larger pieces of fruit. Otherwise my expectations have been fully met and I am enjoying using the blender. I have not used the food processor yet

After 3 uses the blender is shutting off and has a heavy electric stench. First use was with bell peppers and onions in the food processor. No issues. Second use was fruit smoothies with ice crushing in blender. No issues. Third use was mixing leftover frozen smoothie cut into slices with milk in blender. Blender shutdown twice and would not restart until it was unplugged and not used for a few minutes. There was a heavy smell of electric but no smoke. I am concerned this product will fail very soon. Cuisinart does not seem like the product my parents have. My handheld mixer is performing poorly as well. It has only been used to mix mashed potatoes and cookie dough type foods. It is not used often either. The blender will not even start on anything other than 7 speed and it surges and wanes. I am concerned about build quality and reliability.

I needed a powerful combo for my kitchen and this has performed very well. The slicing blade is very thin, great for potato chips, but too thin for pickles. Power is very good. I had a previous unit for 6 years and was very happy. I bought my second combo this year.

Bought this to replace a not very old blender from the same line. The sturdy glass jar is the main factor for sticking with the same product and also the relatively compact footprint given current trends in blenders. While the power is the same as the previous purchase (500 watts), this motor is noisier, but it does the job satisfactorily. The food processor has full functionality. Although not a full size food processor, it is adequate for my needs. I look forward to long lasting use.

I had a very large food processor, so thought this would be a good replacement killing two birds with one stone.I find it to be cumbersome; unlike the blender only I replaced. I haven't tried the food processor yet, but not terribly happy with the blender part.

I purchased the unit three weeks ago and I'm glad I did. Due to medical issues, I can't eat solid food, however the unit allows me to eat whatever I want. I basically use the puree function. It's fast and easy to clean. From Avocados to Zucchini, it gets the job done. I also love meat. It does pork chops, ribs, short ribs of beef, Chicken and turkey (after I remove the bone). From a medical standpoint, it's helping to save my life. (need to eat to live). For me it's, 100

I own several Cuisanart products: coffee maker, toaster, food processor (yup, the original DL that's now 43 years old, and runs like the proverbial top! was a wedding present in 1980). It took me a minute to figure out how the "PULSE" feature operates - I'm lazy about reading directions. Everything about this product meets Cuisinart standards. Logical, easy to clean, smart design. Get one.

Great machine with wonderful capabilities. Have only use the blender portion for my morning protein shakes, but it sets the bar high for others. Moving from chopped [nuts, frozen fruits] into puree is a breeze and I never realized how smooooooth a drink could be made.
