I bought the Ikarao Break X1 Portable Karaoke Machine because I heard the sound quality was great and it looked like an upgrade from what we had — and it does sound good and is portable with a built-in screen and apps pre-installed like Spotify and Karafun.
Ikarao
Originally, I purchased a Singing Machine on sale ($30 off the $199 price) and we had such a great time with it during the holidays that my daughter wanted one of her own before the sale ended — so I gave her mine. When I went back to Sam’s Club to buy another Singing Machine, I missed the sale but didn’t care at the time because I figured the Break X1 would be even better.
What I liked:
• The Break X1 has strong sound and portability — it’s loud, clear, and great for casual home karaoke parties.
What disappointed me:
• Unlike the Singing Machine, which I could easily stream music from my Spotify account with the lyrics showing and even connect to better speakers, the Break X1’s built-in Spotify didn’t reliably display lyrics on the screen — which was one of my favorite parts of the Singing Machine experience. • The Singing Machine also had a vocal-removal feature that helped cut the main voice out of most songs so we could sing along more like true karaoke — something I missed with the Break X1.
Overall: The Break X1 is a decent all-in-one karaoke system with great sound, but for our family — especially when we want seamless streaming with lyrics and classic karaoke features — the Singing Machine gave us more of the fun and simplicity we were looking for.
