Great sounding speaker for parties or just listening. Has Bluetooth, a mic for singalong and an fm radio. Took off 1 star for that. No manual tuner - it just scans till it finds a station then supposedly loads into memory. Although there are several several stations near me with strong signals, the tuner failed to find them.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am very happy with the Altec Lansing SoundRover speaker. It has exceeded my expectations. The sound quality is impressive for its size, and the LED lighting adds a fun, party atmosphere. The Bluetooth connectivity is also very reliable. It's a great value for the price and I would definitely recommend it to others.

Excellent value, versatile, and battery powered. At 27 lbs. and 27" tall, it produces loud & clear amplification of voice and music.

I bought it and it was okay for the price but after 55 days it quit working

This speaker is a lot bigger and heavier than I thought. Good thing it has a nice retractable handle and wheels. Something was loose and rattling around inside when I took it out of the box. Took the control panel off to have a look inside to see if it could be fixed or should returned for another one. The two bass reflex port extension tubes are just press fit into the front grille. They were laying on the bottom of the case. A few dabs of 5 min epoxy and they pushed back into place perfectly. As far as the sound goes, it sounds great. Loud and clear. Great bass. Separate treble and bass knobs. The flashing lights can be turned off if you so desire. The "Welcome to Altec Lansing" message in a female voice when you turn it on is a bit much. I wish that could be turned off. Bluetooth has at least 100ft of range. Battery life is great. I have used it a few hours a day in the garage at normal volume for a week and it's still showing three bars of charge. While I was figuring out the best was to open it up to see what was rattling around inside, I saw where the battery lives. It's a sealed lead acid type in the lower part of the case. Keep it charged and expect several years of life out of it. Easily replaced if needed in the future. All in all a great product for the price. I've spent almost as much for a speaker 1/4 of the size that was underwhelming in sound and quality.

Casing of speaker is fragile at best. 1st one i unboxed was crack out of box took it gack. Now 2 nd one has cracked without even one hard drop. Since that is considered damage the protection plan doesnt cover it save your money buy something that is more durable

it really is quite an impressive speaker. sadly 2 things bring my rating down. 1st- Bluetooth delay. if there is a video being played....well...good luck with that. 2nd- not really a deal breaker...but much like the other reviews...the lights cut out. over all- decent over Bluetooth.. AMAZING when connected with 3.5 Selling point=the base is really impressive. its a coin toss. get it or don't lol

there must be a factory defect in these speakers, bought one from the store, ordered another to pair with it. second one didn't work, took back to store for a refund. ordered another one and it doesn't work either. taking the second one back again. unless you buy it a the store and check it out first, don't buy it.

The first thing to understand is that this is a battery powered speaker. That limits the wattage available for the internal amp and it should only be compared to other battery-powered speakers regardless of size. When I first unboxed it, it was super easy to pair with my phone. I opened up my favorite music app, and immediately thought I'd made a mistake. It was awful! Not sure if it was because the speaker wasn't broken in yet, or if it was the EQ settings I had on, so I moved to a different app and let it play. MUCH better. So I let it play for a while, broke the speaker in, and played some bass-heavy songs. Because of the size of the woofer, this can hit frequencies that just aren't physically possible with other portable speakers. I can make my floors of my house shake, and I can annoy my neighbors a few acres away with ease. Because it's battery powered with a relatively small amp, it can be easy to overload frequencies and get distortion or cutting out. At lower volumes I may use the EQ to bump the bass up, but have to level it out a bit at higher volumes - but with just a little patience, I've been able to really make this sound good at any volume I want to use. I should also note - the range seems pretty good - like 50' for bluetooth... and the battery we've been able to use to play all day - not sure how many hours, but it was the better part of a full day. It's also super lightweight, considering it's a battery, amp, and speakers. It has wheels and a retractable handle so it's really easy to move around. The lights are mildly interesting - I wish they danced to the music a little better - the patterns seem to be totally random - but it's a cool effect nonetheless. To top it all off, the price is unbelievable for what you're getting. Part of me wants to get a second one just to bump up the bass and see how it all sounds, but in reality, I just don't need any more volume. Even though I live on a couple acres, this is plenty for me to annoy my neighbors. All in all, I'm very happy with my purchase.

I have been looking for a box like this for sometime finally found it with everything in one place it is easy to take around with me to parties and events. The sound that comes out of it is outstanding, just really love it once again thanks for a wonderful sound.
