I've had my GhostBed Luxe for a little over a month and I can't remember a time I've slept better than I have been since I've got this mattress. I'm giving it four stars because I feel like the cooling properties don't fully live up to the hype. The bare mattress is definitely cool to the touch but I would say only slightly cooler than my old innerspring mattress. In use I don't actually notice myself feeling any cooler when laying down. Overall I love this mattress and the level of coolness is by no means a deal breaker for me. If you're leaning towards the Luxe for the cooling purposes you may be better off just going with the standard GhostBed.

I've been sleeping on my GB Luxe (Twin-XL...split king) for ~30days, and it's been an interesting experience. I'm a side sleeper and during my research into the multitudes of bed-in-a-box offerings, I focused on side-sleeping comfort and the pressure point maps displayed/discussed on CR and other YouTube reviews; the various reviews indicated stating the Luxe showed some of the lowest pressure point impacts for side sleepers...so that sold me. I also read multiple side-sleeper reviews on the GB website mentioning the opposite...that the GB Luxe was an extremely firm mattress. So here's my take: Weeks 1&2: The GB Luxe definitely felt like a firm mattress. I found that I couldn't sleep on my sides as long, and I was tossing/turning more than usual. With that said, I wasn't waking up with the usual stiffness/pains I had from sleeping on a 20 year old spring mattress. But even with that 'relief', I wasn't getting the 'amazing' feeling of sleeping on a foam mattress. Weeks 3&4: The mattress definitely feels like it's breaking in...I'm sleeping through the night without any induced tossing/turning, and I'm still waking up without any of the old aches& pains. It still has the feel of a traditional mattress, but I might actually prefer that because I can switch sides easily, without feeling like I'm doing so in a memory-foam muck. I'll give it another few weeks before I make a final decision, but I think it's going to work out for me. However, I'm leaving my review at 3 stars for now and will adjust the rating accordingly when I make my final decision. My experience (like many others) is likely the very reason why GB (and the other bed-in-a-box companies) require you to keep the beds for a minimum of 30 days. They realize there's a break-in period and don't want buyers to make a snap decision. Final point...the cooling cover/layer on the Luxe is such a great feature. It's definitely cool when you touch it, so I can only imagine it'll help keep the heat load down during the hotter months. It's hard to comment on the effectiveness of it during the winter, so I'll update my review after when spring/summer arrives.

We purchased our old mattress due to price alone (newly married and not much to spend) and coming up on 6 years later, we were really regretting it! We searched for a new mattress to fit our needs for the better part of two months. And finally stumbled upon the GhostBed! I’m a back sleeper and was starting to feel the pain in my shoulders from our old bed, often waking up with sore spots. My husband just wasn’t sleeping well period and being in the military, he really needs the rest! The cooling effect was also a big aspect of our purchase as we both tend to sleep hot. The mattress shipped quickly and was so easy to unload and get it set up!! The difference in sleep has been INCREDIBLE. No more sore spots upon waking up. No more night sweats. Just overall a blissful experience. And the pillows- A MUST! The warranty also gives great peace of mind just in case it just doesn’t work out! HIGHLY RECOMMEND! Give it a shot!

I have been looking for a bed for several months and continually looked at the ghost bed. I finally decided to buy this one. My only regret is that I waited so long. I have had several beds that I have purchased and paid way more. This bed is the most comfortable I have had. I sleep so much better. I was able to stop taking my sleep medication that I have taken for the last 5 years. This bed is amazing.

I love our new bed BUT make sure you evaluate your partners sleep habits before purchase. This bed has relieved pain in my back, legs and shoulders but my sleep is still limited due to my partners restless legs and his snoring was not improved due to him not liking his head adjustment high. We purchased the Queen Luxe with the adjustable base and LOVE it but should have gotten the split base to meet both our needs.

We recently purchased the GhostBed LUXE with the adjustable base - having the two twin-xl beds side by side seemed odd at first, but it has been great. My husband is a restless sleeper and used to wake me with his tossing and turning, now I don't feel him move at all. Being able to adjust the base individually has helped both of us sleep much more comfortably!

We were so excited about a bed that wouldn't make us hot. We noticed no improvement in temperature regulation from our prior mattress. What we added was our sheets not staying on the mattress and our pillow cases sliding right off the pillows. Every night. And in just a few months, we already have a cavern in the middle that we slide into every night. This was why we replaced our other mattress, but that one took 5-6 years to develop the pit. Disappointed to say the least.

Be extremely careful with the trial period!! It is not hassle free at all! They have a lot of conditions that will completely void the trial period, including a catch-all “changes in circumstances” clause. Every email you send is linked to your order. If the first email you send doesn’t use the words “comfort level isn’t what I wanted”, they will void the trial period. For example, we wanted to return the queen we bought and buy a king. Despite them making more money in this exchange, they immediately voided my full trial period since that first email talked about “size issues”, not comfort level. And yes, the voiding information is on their site, but its buried as far down as possible to avoid detection. If the trial period is a deciding factor for you (it was for us), skip Ghostbed and go with someone else. The mattress is decent, but nothing great. Definitely not worth the cost.

I watched a lot of reviews before trying Ghostbed Luxe. They all talked about how cool the mattress feels and how it almost feels wet, and that it would be great for hot sleepers. Blah blah. If honest reviews existed then it would surely save these companies a lot in unnecessary returns. Yes, the mattress initially feels cool. But give it a few hours and things heat up. The area under the hips starts to feel like laying on a heating pad. Fine for winter. Horrible for summer. I've since been told that if a mattress is memory foam it will sleep hot. I guess it's best to not have memory foam for me. Maybe a hybrid would be okay.

We bought a queen-sized GhostBed Luxe mattress for our teenage son. It is even HARDER to get him up in the morning now because he loves sleeping on the mattress. He said, "I had no idea what I've been missing all my life sleeping on my old mattress." He says it's the perfect combination of firm but still feeling like you're on a cloud. We're happy, except for the getting him out of bed part. :)
