I've been sleeping on my GB Luxe (Twin-XL...split king) for ~30days, and it's been an interesting experience. I'm a side sleeper and during my research into the multitudes of bed-in-a-box offerings, I focused on side-sleeping comfort and the pressure point maps displayed/discussed on CR and other YouTube reviews; the various reviews indicated stating the Luxe showed some of the lowest pressure point impacts for side sleepers...so that sold me. I also read multiple side-sleeper reviews on the GB website mentioning the opposite...that the GB Luxe was an extremely firm mattress. So here's my take: Weeks 1&2: The GB Luxe definitely felt like a firm mattress. I found that I couldn't sleep on my sides as long, and I was tossing/turning more than usual. With that said, I wasn't waking up with the usual stiffness/pains I had from sleeping on a 20 year old spring mattress. But even with that 'relief', I wasn't getting the 'amazing' feeling of sleeping on a foam mattress. Weeks 3&4: The mattress definitely feels like it's breaking in...I'm sleeping through the night without any induced tossing/turning, and I'm still waking up without any of the old aches& pains. It still has the feel of a traditional mattress, but I might actually prefer that because I can switch sides easily, without feeling like I'm doing so in a memory-foam muck. I'll give it another few weeks before I make a final decision, but I think it's going to work out for me. However, I'm leaving my review at 3 stars for now and will adjust the rating accordingly when I make my final decision. My experience (like many others) is likely the very reason why GB (and the other bed-in-a-box companies) require you to keep the beds for a minimum of 30 days. They realize there's a break-in period and don't want buyers to make a snap decision. Final point...the cooling cover/layer on the Luxe is such a great feature. It's definitely cool when you touch it, so I can only imagine it'll help keep the heat load down during the hotter months. It's hard to comment on the effectiveness of it during the winter, so I'll update my review after when spring/summer arrives.

After 13 years on a TempurPedic that my wife and I absolutely loved we finally had to part ways. It had just broken down too much that I was waking up in pain every morning over the last year or so. We shopped around and found a TempurPedic we liked but 4 kids later after the first purchase we couldn’t bring ourselves to shell out $4k+ for what we wanted. So, the search began for something we could afford. I think I watched every mattress comparison video on YouTube. I kept coming across the ghostbed Luxe. It seemed to be exactly what I wanted. A little on firm side, but not too much, with a little help staying cool. So we pulled the trigger and got it. It’s been a few weeks now and I love it. The cooling affect isn’t quite as powerful as I had hoped but it’s still cooler what what we had, and the support is literally perfect for me. I prefer sleeping on my back, but because I snore that way, I often end up on my side. This bed is slightly more comfortable for me on my back than on my side, but still very comfortable either way. I’m sleeping much better now that I’ve adjusted to it and my back and shoulder pain has been reduced by about 80%!!! Worth it!! Set up was easy and the Off-gassing was minimal to nill. I was quite impressed with that because it took a good 2 weeks for the old TempurPedic to stop giving me headaches. My only word of caution is that the silky “ice” layer on top is so slick my sheets slide around more than I’d like. I had to buy sheet straps because they were coming off every night. But now that I’ve got the straps in place I’m good to go and the slippery surface isn’t bothering me. Probably like a new pair of shoes, there’s still a break in phase but I feel like we’re getting through that and I’m very happy. The real test will be to see how the bed holds up over time. The 25 year warranty gave me the confidence to go for it and I’m glad I did. If it doesn’t last at least as long as the TempurPedic, I’ll be counting on Ghost to make it right, and I’m sure they will. For now... sweet, happy, comfy dreams!

I really wanted to like the ghost bed because it was the first mattress of this type that didn't make me sweat. It was too firm for me and caused my lower back to hurt but I guess I just need a softer mattress. Return process was not difficulty. Contacted a donation place, they picked up the mattress, and I sent off the requested paperwork for a smooth return. I still have a 4 star rating because it was a high quality mattress.

I’m torn between how to write this review. My husband loves the bed and it is so comfortable for him. I, however, do not find it comfortable and unless I am extremely exhausted it takes me a while to fall asleep. I also wake up with some lower back issues which I was trying to get rid of by getting a new mattress. It’s not horrible but that’s the gamble we take with buying a mattress online. I do find it more comfortable sleeping on my back but I am a side sleeper so that’s probably the position I normally go to and why I wake up with back pain. I thought about getting an additional memory foam topper. Our bed in the guestroom is a firm mattress with a 2 inch memory foam topper and it is very comfortable. I thought that this bed would be similar to that. With all that being said, that is the gamble you take with buying a mattress online and not being able to test it ahead of time. I’ve given it some time to see if I would adjust, but unfortunately that hasn’t happened. I’ll probably spend money on a memory foam topper just so I can feel a little bit more comfortable.

I was really excited about getting my new bed that advertised a new cooling system. However, I do not notice any difference in the cooling between my 10 year old Sleep Number bed and this bed. After 3 weeks of sleeping in the new bed I wake up nightly with back pain. Hopefully, this is just my body getting used to it.

We LOVE this bed! We have actually tried almost ever version of the ghosts bed (and love them all) but this one is our favorite! It’s soft yet supported and cooling! There is 120 lb difference between my husband and I so we always had the issue of someone thinks the bed is either too soft or too firm but this one is perfect! We sleep so good now and feel well rested! Plus it looks very modern even on sheet wash days!

I have been disappointed in this mattress. It feels very cool to the touch at first, but it quickly heats up. It's not nearly as soft as I had anticipated. I do have less back pain than my previous all memory foam mattress; however, I have not seen an improvement in my sleep patterns. My wife feels the same way. We are still deciding whether or not to return it. If I am feeling this hot now in winter, I worry about how bad it will be in summer! But, I will say that the mattress appears well made.

Overall this is a great mattress. It is comfortable and sleeps well. The cooling is an interesting aspect, but once you add the sheets and mattress cover you can't really reap the benefits of the cooling technology. That said if that is my only downside it really is a great purchase. To me it is a perfect blend of firm and soft.

I have been sleeping on the ghostbed for about three weeks and every morning I wake up in the same position I fell asleep in! I don’t move around switching sides or trying to get comfortable anymore. My shoulders don’t hurt if I sleep on my side all night . I also purchased the sheets and pillows and they are all amazing! Also, customer service has been wonderful. I can’t ask for an overall better experience.

I've been waking every morning with lower back pain so bad, it took half the day for it to loosen up. I couldn't stand up straight in the morning. Since sleeping on this bed for just under a month, my back pain is gone! I sleep so soundly now and wake up feeling refreshed with tons of energy! I highly recommend this mattress to anyone who suffers from back pain. The adjustable base is awesome as well.
