Customer reviews for Hamilton Beach Professional-Style Deep Fryer, 4.7 Quart/19 Cup Oil Capacity forMember photos
The unit is perfect for me
After reading the reviews and taking all into consideration, I finally chose this particular model. It is easy to use, easy to clean and I love the different sized baskets. And the magnetic "break away" electric cord is a great invention and should be on every stationary appliance. It works great against grease smell disbursement into the air, and grease spatters, because of the well designed lid.
Professional quality fryer
The first food that I tried was chicken wings. The wings were crispy and stayed crispy even after they got room temperature. I feel that my wings was of professional quality. I wish that they would of made the grease easier to store. Other than that it is a winner.
NO MORE COLD FAST FOOD.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've used the Hamilton Beach Professional Style Deep Fryer from the first day it was delivered to my home. Why I waited so long to own one is beyond me. This Fryer is a mighty little work-horse. I made chicken and fries but that's not all. Would you believe breaded shrimp and sole were done in less than 8 minutes? All you need is a high quality cooking oil and your imagination, because I did not stop there. Other vegetable sides and quick deserts were on the menu in no time. My favorite veggies I had to try were batter dipped cauliflower, zucchini, and broccoli. The first dessert I tried, a real treat was the recipe for apple fritters printed in the instruction booklet. With the two baskets a main course and sides can be done in no time. I used the larger basket for donuts since I wanted a sizable quantity to share with friends. They disappeared in a blink. The idea of three baskets makes this Deep Fryer a go to appliance in the corner of my kitchen counter to turn out quick hot meals in no time. It's a nice way to get children to nosh on vegetables after school since clean up is easy and done in no time. Imagine fresh crisp snacks without waiting in line at fast-food outlets and most importantly you know what the ingredients are because you put them there. I do wish there were more recipes along with the instructions. I plan on making egg-rolls soon. The instructions could have been a bit more comprehensive but the Hamilton Beach Professional Style Deep Fryer is a cinch to use. Few parts and no mess. Delicious hot faster food at home. Yes Hamilton Beach, this is good thinking.
The fryer cooks very well but oil was splattered on the setting dial and after a number of cleanings all the numbers and settings came off now we canâ t tell where to set the dials. It was only cleaned with regular dish soap and a cloth. For this reason I donâ t recommend buying it.
Another Perfect Product!!!!!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] At first this product did scare me; it is much bigger than what I thought it would be. I have not had a deep fryer for many years though I have been wanting one since my old one died about 20 years ago. Once I unpacked the Deep Fryer from the box and read the manual I was ready to get started. I use Crisco Pure Vegetable Oil in this fryer. I would love to try Peanut Oil but, for my Daughter-In-Law’s sake that has a peanut allergy I keep to Vegetable Oil so we never have any mishaps. This fryer has been used everyday for 11 straight days. I am so happy with this product, and though the size of it scared me at first…I am now relieved that is the size it is. I’ve been preparing meals and snacks for four grown children and ten grand-children. First request was French fries…”NO MORE OVEN FRIES” was everyone’s response. The HB Deep Fryer measures: approximately 10½ inches (from counter to top of lid handle) high by 14 1/8 inches (from left-handle to right-handle) wide by 21¼ inches (from rear to end of basket handles in front) deep. Note: I place my deep fryer on my chest freezer for use as my freezer top has more depth than my counter-top. (Just makes me feel safer with grand-children running around). It holds approximately 2¼ inches of oil right at the middle of the maximum level. The instructions state that the fryer will hold a minimum of about 15 cups of oil to no more than 19 cups. (I did not measure oil by the cup; I just eye-balled to the middle of the max line). Note: with an empty basket (large size) this will appear to be ½ the depth of the basket, just remember the oil level will rise depending on how much food is in your basket. I fry three to four chicken breasts (depending on their size) in the large basket at one time and they come out beautifully every time. I make sure to pat the breast dry with paper towels before dipping in my batter to absorb as much moisture as I can to avoid as much splatter as possible once placed in the oil. DO NOT USE REFRIGERATED OIL…refrigerated oil can condensate (collect moisture) which will cause splattering. Be aware of all safeguards in the instructions for safe and happy experiences in your frying endeavors! As per instructions “Do Not Use for more than 60 minutes in a 2-hour period”. The model I have (#35034) came with a removeable lid that has a nice size view window, three sets of slots for the accompanying fryer baskets (each with their own removeable handles); each basket has an attached drain bracket. Each basket handle can either remain attached and swiveled into basket for storage or removed (as I do, so all baskets, handles, and electric cord can be stored inside the oil pot). The Electric Cord is magnetic, which I found to be really nice safety feature as well. The Heating Element Assembly contains two controls: The Timer and The Temperature Control, plus indicator lights (one for power; one for when the fryer is ready). So far, I have only used the timed settings; I have not used the “STAY ON” setting as yet. Be extra careful when removing lid; I remove lid with my right hand by tipping up from the left and rear a little to let heat and steam escape first. I also take extra care to make sure the fry baskets are seated securely on their drain brackets…you don’t want a nasty burn from splashed oil or the mess either. Thus far we have enjoyed Deep Fried Vegetable Medley consisting of batter dipped vegetables (cauliflower, broccoli, onion, mushrooms, carrots, sweet potato, zucchini) I blanch my veggies first, then drain and blot the moisture off before dipping into my batter, then fry to deep golden brown. Also of course French Fries, Hush Puppies, Chicken Breast, Fish Filets, Potato Wedges, Stuffed Jalapeno Peppers, and Mozzarella Sticks. Now I’m making my own Breaded Cheese Bites using my favorite cheeses in large bite size chunks. I clean my fryer after every use and use coffee filters and a mesh strainer for filtering my oil. I’m thoroughly delighted to add my new Hamilton Beach Professional-Style Deep Fryer to my kitchen collection.
DISAPPOINTED
I was so excited to receive this. I shopped and compared and decided on this one. I tracked it for 2 days and when it showed up I was so happy. however, I was only left with a defunct item that wouldn't even power on and the huge headache of draining the gallon of peanut oil, packaging it back up and returning it for my $79.99. I spent 3 hours troubleshooting hoping that this was operator error. No, its just a piece of crap. save yourself a headache.

Professional Deep Fryer for Home
This is a great deep fryer. It comes with 3 baskets-1 large one to fry big items, and 2 smaller baskets which fit side by side in the fryer, which allow you to cook 2 different things at the same time. The removable liner makes cleanup a lot easier. It is nice to have one piece of equipment that does it all.
Great Fry
Fries very well following directions to drop certain foods straight in and use baskets to lift out or to drop directly into barkers and fry then lift out worked excellently. Cleans very easily and it's fold down basket handles and overall shape helps to store it easily
Hamilton beach fryer
I received the fryer on 9-29-17 which was very fast shipping, I used the fryer on 9-30-17 it works great I love it and will be using it often at the camp for fish fries. The only reason I did not give it a 5 star is the housing gets pretty hot, but it not a big deal.. works great can't wait to get the fish in it.
family dinner sized fryer
excellent fryer with plenty of room for multiple pieces at a time. the previous reviews are correct that state that it uses a lot of oil if you are just frying a small amount, for the whole bin needs to be filled even if you are frying very little. also the baskets sit on the heating element when immersed but that has not caused a problem so far. love the fact that the "bin" thatholds the oil can be removed to emty used oil and cleaning. perfect for family fried dinners.
