where's the dark chocolate?

I don't like the milk chocolate wafers or the vanilla ones. What happened to the Ghirardelli dark wafers? Last year you didn't have Ghirardelli but you at least had the Member's mark dark chocolate wafers! This year no dark chocolate!! I am retired and make Christmas money selling candy but my clients love the dark chocolate which I can no longer get unless I pay 3 times your price for the wafers at Walmart. Guess no one will get Christmas presents from me this year. I am so disappointed!

Don't be afraid

A couple reviews scared me from purchasing initially… My husband wanted to make some nut clusters for both Thanksgiving/hunting season and then we make them for Christmas so I decided to buy them for the hunting season and figured I would switch to Ghirardelli for Christmas if need be… Don't be afraid this is very good melting wafers I will use it in place a Ghirardelli for Christmas. He makes nut clusters in the crockpot with white chocolate milk, chocolate and dark chocolate, we did not have dark chocolate we had semi sweet chocolate chips so we used both types of melting wafers plus semi sweet chocolate chips and added 2 tablespoons of cocoa powder to the recipe to encourage the dark chocolate flavor from the chips and they turned out perfect. (the Internet suggested to add cocoa powder to chips to make a dark chocolate flavor and it was perfect.)

Horrible!

I bought these last year and they were delicious and I used them for all my holiday candies. However this year the formulation has changed and I didn't notice that it said “chocolate flavored” candy melts. They are gross, and I wasted so much money on them, as I had to replace them with real chocolate. Please, Sam's…. Bring back the actual chocolate melts. Originally you carried Ghirardelli, and then created your own knock off version which was actually decent. These aren't.

Disappointing!

This recipe has changed and they are horrible. They smell like a bad chocolate fudge frosting and taste like it too. Compared the ones bought last year (2024) and they're wau different. The overall size of the wafers is smaller as well. They dry down with a white haze not shiny. Truly disappointing! in the pic the new is on the left old on the right for size comparison.

Member's Mark Milk Chicolate Flavored Melts is he worst "chocolate" I have ever worked with or tasted!!! The flavor is awful, it tastes like some kind of fake strawberry with chemicals added. And the melting consistency is horrible, it never did dry with a smooth shiny finish. Therefore the overall value is 0%. I can't stress enough how bad this stuff is!!!! 😫😖😝 DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY!!

I dont often leave reviews, but i am regretting purchasing a few bags of these melts without tasting them first. They had great reviews and im usually pleased with Members Mark brand. However, the taste is terrible. i think they taste very artificial and overly sweet. They brand name that Sams Club used to sell is far superior, so i will be purchasing them elsewhere from now on.

Too much of a syrup taste for me

My family and I did not like the taste of these. It was my mistake for not reading the package which clearly stated "chocolate flavored". I bought them to cover strawberries and ended up not using them. I actually threw the bag away because of the taste. The wafers are overwhelmed by a syrup taste that I could not get past.

Spend more and get the name brand

Members mark has upped their game on many items. But not this one. Not as good as Ghirardelli. The chocolate tastes more like wax and does not have the high quality taste of Ghirardelli. Sam's…please bring back Ghirardelli. It's worth spending a little more.

Mediocre Chocolate

I make about 20lbs of toffee in a week, and have used several different brands of chocolate. Ghirardelli and Callebaut are much better. Much. This is very waxy, and even when heated, is thick, and never sets to a hard sheen. (I know how to temper...). Flavor is flat compared to the others too. But... people will generally gladly eat any kind of chocolate. So it's cheaper and not as good, but it gets consumed. For general gifting, this is fine. But if you have discerning chocolate friends, choose the other options.

Definitely not Ghirardelli

I've always use the Ghirardelli brand from Sam's for my Christmas treats. Since those are no longer available, I decided to give the Sam's brand to try this year. These are nothing like them. They melt quickly, but the flavor is not the same. Also, these had tons of air bubbles in them consistently which caused issues with dipping. These taste like cheap chocolate, and I'm not happy to serve them to my guests. Next year, I'll make sure to order Ghirardelli from somewhere else.
