It's a huge improvement from the original Switch, minus a star for the included game being 'locked' to the to the console itself instead of giving you a code or even the physical game cartridge. You'll be able to link the game to your account once you sign-in with you Nintendo account.

Did a fare share of research AFTER the Nintendo Switch 2 Direct. If you love Nintendo first party games aa well as the different genres of third party, you should get the Nintendo Switch 2. It's an EVERYONE gaming console in my opinion. The additional plus is it's backwards compatibility with most Nintendo Switch 1 games. You can play games with the TV or without it. This is also the perfect birthday gift for myself %26 I'll be jumping into the 10th Generation (Switch 2) a day before my birthday (9/4/2025). This is a big step up from the switch 1 in so many ways, including audio, resolution, and durability. I also really enjoy Mario Kart World. I feel like the mechanics and courses are more interesting and having 24 racers is a lot more fun than MK8, which felt very much the same as previous games I had played since the DS version released.

Pros: •Bigger Screen •Vibrant 1080p HDR looks incredible •Joycon 2 feel great to hold • Magnetic Joycon are much better •Mouse mode works incredibly well •Lots of potential for future games •Eshop loads much faster •In fact everything loads MUCH faster •256 gb storage for me was enough Cons: •Battery life not long (2hrs in MKWorld) •Lack of NEW launch games •Basically Same UI, no Nintendo charm •Speakers weren’t as loud/clear as I like Overall the Switch 2 is pretty amazing. The new joycons are incredible, the way they snap on and off is something I didn’t know I needed, and the bigger size is a much needed upgrade. The screen looks amazing and is bigger, which is very nice. The mouse mode is surprisingly great, and reminds me of the Wii days. The cons I mentioned were mostly minimal, and I see this console as an investment in future games, as it will definitely be getting some amazing games in the future, you just gotta wait.

I was happy to see this system was being sold directly from Walmart and not resellers. For those who are complaining about the code: Go to Nintendo eShop after you setup your Switch 2. A prompt will pop up letting you know about the game so you can download it. There’s no code in the box. 🙂

the new system has some amazing new improvements. the wireless remotes magnetize to the side so easily and stay intact. we have the original switch as well and the remotes always had issues so we were happy to see that new improvement. its quite a bit bigger as well and the screen and graphics are fantastic. my kids are obsessed and love the new mario kart world and say its the best one yet!

I’ve been a Nintendo fan since I was a kid and have had a switch since ********* and the switch 2 is an upgrade in every way. $********* is a lot of money but I get value out of it so it makes it worth it to me but I can see how people wouldn’t want to spend that much on it.

1. Some Switch games run better on Switch 2 (higher framrates, stable framerates, etc.). 2. Large LCD screen with vivd colors. 3. Larger controllers with Joy-Con 2. 4. Extremely durable. 5. New dock still scratches the Switch 2 when docking/undocking. Invest in a glass screen protector. 6. "D-Pad" is still rough for fighter games. Invest in the Pro 2 controller for this genre. 7. Great launch line up.

Console came within a few days. Great upgrade from the switch 1, however if your not looking to play the switch 2 exlusives they have made framerate improvments for switch 1 games. Mario kart does not come with a phisical game or a code for the game instead you will launch the switch store and it will promt you to download the game ilimminating the risk of bad companies stealing your game.

i hate the price has gone up so much from the first switch, but I'm happy with the upgrade. it is a beast compared to the first one, much more power and quality. love the bigger screen, I've been using it more handheld than i did with the 1st version released in 2017. having 4k when docked on the tv is just so much nicer than 1080p on my 80 inch tv.
