[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've had this tv for a couple of days and I've got most of the features figured out. Delivery from Costco was slow but that is expected for the free delivery option from them. I did have my close friend install it and move the previous mount and 55 inch smart LG LCD tv to another room for guests. This one I thought ahead and bought the magic remote for it. My only real issues are getting the magic remote set up with the Apple TV and with the Arris manufactured set top box dvr for x1 Xfinity service which is not an included manufacturer on the LG list of manufacturers when you go into add remote to control set top box option. Trying to add via trying all the available options didn't work and adding Apple TV works sporadically. However those are small issues.
Let's say this, for one thing, the Apple TV with HDR is absolutely awesome on this television. The tv recognizes that content is HDR and auto sets the input for HDR which is actually a step up in superior picture quality from ultra HD.
I connected Xfinity X1 and Apple TV via HDMI and rather than optical I chose to connect to my vizio 5.1 surround sound bar satellite sub woofer system via HDMI ARC which works flawlessly on this system.
Web OS, the remnants of the old Palm pilot you may have once used, is the overplayed operating system on this tv with google assistant and it has a lot of robust features. For those of you whine are cord cutters, this tv comes with everything you need. It even comes with its own set of IPTV channels set up with a guide and list system already in the tv and on the magic remote, free if charge and built into the software so that those of you who don't subscribe to pay cable have a lot of options. It's actually quite a lot of good programming and it's sectioned by type, sports, food, gossip, nature, movies etc. you can watch the currently playing title or even choose on demand from the channels offered. And there are hundreds of channels. Ad supported but they play ads less often than Hulu with light advertising plays them for me on the 5.99 plan.
Voice feature works to some degree but it is not as robust as I would like it to be. For example it won't forward or rewind your program but it will search results for you and change inputs and things like that. I'm a bit disappointed that it will not handle basic functions such as pause rewind and fast forward. Perhaps I'm speaking to it the wrong way or perhaps there will be an update forthcoming. That's the magic of software.
One pro tip - turn off energy saving in your settings for the best picture. This is not where you want to save your pennies. Stay in, watch your movies at home, eat in and save there.
Pressing the input button on the magic remote gets you quickly to the inputs which by default pop up on the right side of the screen or you can just tell the tv to switch to hdmi xxx or open Netflix or open Hulu or whatever it is you want to do.
The pointer option is nice to have and it is also nice to have the ability to turn it off as well.
There are also a ton of downloadable apps including plex and various other server based apps as well as the usual streaming apps and a few unusual ones. Even redbox was on there. And redbox often has a free rental if you check slick deals so it's nice to have there.
In summary I recommend this tv but change the energy settings and ensure you use it with as high def a stream box as you can afford. Preferably Apple TV 4K which supports the most high def picture that exists on the market
