Customer reviews for Wagner Flexio 3000 HVLP Handheld Paint Sprayer forGreat sprayer for large and small projects!
I had once used a paint sprayer many years ago and was not happy with the results, so I went back to roller and brush painting back then and never gave sprayers a second thought. However, after purchasing a house last year and realizing we had many projects that we want to complete this year, it started me to thinking about possibly using a paint sprayer to speed up our painting tasks. I hoped that current technology was better than what I had used in the past, so I did some research and decided to try a Wagner Flexio sprayer. With numerous painting/staining projects to do of various types, I decided that the Flexio 3000 would be the best choice, as I could choose between the iSpray nozzle and the Detail nozzle as appropriate for what I would be spraying. The first project I painted with my Flexio 3000 was a newly textured ceiling in our home office. The room was stripped down to the plywood subfloor, so I was not concerned with overspray and figured it would be a good way to experiment with the new sprayer. I found it very easy to use and get used to, and it sprayed non-thinned paint to a nice finish with very minimal overspray. Cleanup afterward was relatively quick and easy. I have since used my Flexio 3000 on several additional painting tasks that have allowed me to use both nozzles and I have been extremely satisfied with the results. The Flexio 3000 will greatly speed up the completion of our painting projects without any sacrifice in paint finish quality. I highly recommend the Wagner Flexio 3000 Sprayer!
Great Sprayer
I bought this sprayer to paint my house and fence after a bad hail storm. I am not a painter but after just about 5 minutes it looks like I do it for a living. It's easy to use and super fast with even coverage. I used a high dollar thick paint and did not even have to thin it down. Great gun for the buck.
Easy to use with great results
I bought the sprayer to paint the lattice under my deck and to repaint my deck prior to my son's wedding. The wedding took place on the steps of my deck. It was so easy to paint all 8 panels (approx 6'X8' each). The 3000 is very easy to use and clean. I do not think I would have been able to complete this project in time without the 3000.
FLEXiO 3000 - Great Product!
I bought the FLEXiO 3000 3 months ago and have not regretted this purchase at all. It was user friendly and did the job quickly. It was actually kind of fun and my balcony looks GREAT! Because I heard stories about clogging when using paint sprayers, I did filter the stain and will do the same for paint but I only do that as a precaution. Again, GREAT Product! 5 Stars!
Sprays well
Used it to spray primer and topcoat on the interior of my Old Motorhome. It handled the thick paint well. My only complaint would be the weight, but it was a lot lighter than my old Wagner as well as much easier to clean. New design is a lot simpler than the older ones. I really like the way it sprays.
Perfect Entry HVLP
I've used this a couple of times. I'm a woodworker and the one thing that I hate is applying finish to large projects. I bought this product to help with that and help with painting the house for wife's needs. The first project I painted was a desk. I used latex paint and it worked fantastic. I also feel that I used less paint to spray it than to mop it on with a brush. The controls are easy to use and understandable. I would recommend this product to anyone.
Really good product
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Used this product for a master bedroom and bath, hallway, 3 smaller bedrooms and a stairwell and all were done over a weekend A total of about 1000sf and it never missed a beat. Didn't have to thin paint just wiped the nozzle every now and then. Worked great on both walls and ceilings. Great control and almost no overspray. Entire area had new luxury vinyl planks and the stairs and handrails just redone 5 months ago. Clean up was easy and fast.
Great little project sprayer
Just purchased today to refinish an antique table and chairs for my wife, and so far it sprays great and very even. Someone commented regarding latex or thick paint, and I agree without thinning it will spray chunky but so will most other airless sprayers. Thinned mine down aboutb10-15% and was perfect. I have a much larger Wagner airless that I like as well, but it’s a pain to drag out and get ready and then to clean up, just too much for small jobs like this. Another awesome feature is the ability to adjust to only the speed of the compressor but the flow of material they the tip, which slows you to spray in tight areas without having to mask off half the house due to overspray.
Great for trim
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am an owner of a Flexio 890 HVLP paint sprayer. I have used that system over 500 times and would probably be considered a power user. The folks at Wagner have asked me to evaluate their Flexio 3000 system. Since the 3000 system shares some significant similarities with the 890 I was definitely interested. Starting with general comments, the 3000 consists of a power unit, a detail sprayer for small jobs and an iSpray nozzle used primarily for walls. The power unit is handheld and compact and attaches directly to the sprayer nozzle without any additional hoses. From the tip of the nozzle to the end of the power unit, the assembly measures 12 to 14 inches long depending on which nozzle is attached. This means that any job that intended for the 3000 must be easily accessible without any confined spaces. Painting in between shelves or inside of cabinets may pose some problems. The 3000 is a very quiet system. The system only runs when the trigger is pulled. Detail Sprayer: The material for all jobs that I will use the 3000 on will be either water based or water borne paint. On 5 jobs, I was shooting primer. I shot a heavy solids primer similar to Zinseer or Kilz, followed by Behr 75. In all of the jobs, I used the detail sprayer and adjusted the material flow. I left the power unit setting at min. The unit did an excellent job at laying the primer down. There was no problem shooting the heavy solids primer but, I did cut it. One thing I did notice was that the unit was heavy and caused my arm to tire after a while. On the next series of jobs using the detail sprayer I sprayed a satin enamel. The 3000 laid down an excellent finish on each of the jobs. One thing I noticed compared to my other system was that the finish laid down by the 3000 is much less susceptible to flashing. This makes it a good tool to use on doors and trim. I was impressed. Pattern width control is not part of the detail nozzle design and would certainly be a plus if added. Clean up of the sprayer really doesn’t take more that a few minutes. I don’t usually spend more than 5 minutes, but I have had a lot of practice. PROs: Excellent finish, quick to assemble, easy to clean CONs: Heavy, work must be easily accessible iSPRAY: I did several jobs using the iSpray nozzle. I am familiar with this nozzle as I have done many jobs with an earlier revision of it on the 890 system. One of the changes that was implemented on this revision of the iSpray was the material flow control. It has 12 numbered positions which make dialing in the proper flow easy. Some additional changes were made on the nozzle itself which I assume were aimed to eliminate the stippled finish of the earlier version of the iSpray. I wasn’t able to confirm this since I was painting textured walls. For my jobs, I was shooting both PVA and latex wall paint. I had used both of these paints before on my other system. I prepared the paints by filtering and cutting. I started with a small amount, 500 ml. I left the power unit on min as a start and dialed in the material flow from 1 to 4. Although there wasn’t much paint in the sprayer, the unit became heavy after a short use. It would be very tiring using this while working on a ladder especially with a full sprayer. My paint strokes with the iSpray did not start smoothly. Each time I pulled the trigger, the nozzle would spit. Normally, I would expect spit if the paint wasn’t cut properly. That wasn’t the issue here. I attempted to eliminate the problem by adding power. I tweeked the power setting from min up to 3. That did not fix the spitting problem. All it did was cause the unit to consume more paint. Paint consumption has been an ongoing battle between me and the iSpray. At power = 3 and material flow = 4, the 500ml I had loaded in the sprayer didn’t last long. I encountered an additional problem with the iSpray that did not manifest with the detail nozzle. This was a delay in material delivery between trigger pulls. With the detail nozzle, the type of work being done generally involves quick strokes in rapid succession. With the iSpray, the strokes are slower and the time between release of trigger to pull of trigger is usually a few seconds longer compared to the detail sprayer. With each new pull, there was a noticeable delay between the time I pulled the trigger until the time the paint started spraying. It was only a second or 2 but I had already started the stroke. Clean up was similar to what I am used to. The entire process took only about 5 minutes. PROs: material flow much easier to adjust on this revision, clean up is easy CONs: Heavy, spits, excessive paint consumption, flow delay Overall: I like this system with the detail sprayer. It is very quick to set up and lays down an excellent finish. Clean up takes just a few minutes. I highly recommend the system for jobs compatible with the detail sprayer. I do not like the system with the iSpray and don’t recommend it at this time.
Seems a bit overcomplicated
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Unpacking, the case leaves much to be desired... very thin plastic "hard" case with flimsy clasps that are a challenge to use. The included literature is a tad overwhelming. There is a LOT of different pieces that seem unnecessary. Some is very step by step for the gun features itself and useful, but just as much is also about the recommended painting process of painting rooms etc. It was all a bit much. The sprayer itself feels sturdy and I do like the large sized container for the larger nozzle gun. Having so many adjustments and steps to use it was not friendly though. The manual indicates that the trigger is 2-step... slight to start motor, than pull further to spray material. Why do this? It also doesn't have a natural feel or intuitive need to be 2 step trigger. I was only aware of this based on manual. The multiple adjustment dials for material and power levels were not intuitive and images on them did not coordinate with my project when referring to the chart published in the manual. Feeling the need to have to have this manual handy to properly set the dials for future projects was not settling. I did have an issue with my project, being my paint needed to be thinned... but the literature and packing materials indicated this sprayer can handle most materials. After thinning my latex paint with water and straining (medium) it into the container, the gun still was not successful in picking any of it up. I am replacing the paint today and will be trying this sprayer again to see if it can do what it says it should be able to. I did like the bags included for ease of cleanup... but only 2?!? and are they readily available at the box stores? Thanks for including the extra filters and nozzles... this was a nice touch. I will attempt to update this review after round 2 at the same project.
