First , customer service from Escalade Sports is top notch. I had an issue which they resolved in a very timely manner.
This table is a great value at 699, but there are a few things you should know before purchasing. This is a 9 foot table for home use. Standard indoor tables are 12 or 14 feet long and outdoor or professional tables are 22 feet. Even though this is only 9 feet, its still very heavy, over 300 pounds and you will need to consider this for assembly. You should have 2 very strong people or 4 average people to help with assembly. Assembly is not complicated, but you should have someone with basic mechanical assembly skills on board. One of the table cross supports, under the table, has to be installed and not all the pilot holes have been pre-drilled. (The holes that the screws first slide into on the cross support are all pre-drilled, but all the table side pilot holes have not) I recommend the three holes on the underside of the table surface should be marked and predrilled with a small drill bit, 3/64 or max 1/16 diameter x 1/2 deep. You can try putting the screws in without the pre-drilled holes, but first secure the other screws that have been pre-drilled in the blocks on the sides of the table. This will be much clearer as get to this point in the installation instructions.
One last point, in my opinion, the table wax that is shipped with the table is a very fast wax, and not appropriate for new players on a 9 foot table. It will be frustrating for new players. I recommend a powder like Sun-Glo number 6 or 5.
