Truthfully, I prefer my own homemade popcorn, but this works in a pinch. When I first tasted the bagged popcorn, I could taste the oil it was made with. I don't know if that is supposed to be the "butter flavor," but it almost tasted rancid. Either way it was a noticeable oil flavor and not a butter flavor. Maybe I just got a bad bag. I don't think I'll get another one though
