Very tasty beer, especially the Cold Brew stout.

Good Beer at a Fair Price!

Bought the variety pack during an end-of-season markdown...just to try.  Each beer variety has a unique flavor and froth type. We have a couple favorites, although we enjoyed each. It was fun to pair the beers with different foods, made it a challenge for us.  Fun!

If the  pack is available later this year, we will grab one earlier in the holiday season!

Sam Adam's case

We had one can that was empty! It was a sealed case, but one of the beers wasn’t even filled, and had never been opened. Fluke thing most likely, but I wouldn’t want to spend as much as this case cost, and then end up having been shorted a beer.

The Pilsner doesn’t hold against an ale. Thank goodness for the winter ale in there. It’s the best beer in the box.  The lager is a want to be Oak Creek Nut Brown,  the Fezziwig tasted like it already went bad (and so did the Pilsner for that matter).

Not that great, just buy favorite separately.

Short version, great tastes throughout, favorite would have to be the OVP

Can we have this year round please

I was not really enthused about trying this Winter variety pack from Sam Adams, at first.
After their Oktoberfest ale ended up feeling like it had become very lackl-ustre and weak from the days of its original rlelease, I became very wary of try anything Sam Adams no make. However, I gave this mixed box a try and was very pleasanty surprised that they actually had some good flavors in there.
I am not usually a lager fan. I usually find it to thin and weak and highly gassy. I like more body and a more robust flavor like porters and stouts. But this Winter Lager had a great deep dark color, and so I knew it was going to be a little different the minute that I poured it. It was more robust and highly flavorsome and actually turned out to be my favorite of all the 4 flavors and I would definitely buy this flavor again.
However, the most disappointing was the red can. A good mix of spices but just so weak.
My 2nd favorite was the stout. Very chocolatey and very smooth. Not the best out there, but a worthy winter stout nonetheless. I would drink this again if my other favorite stouts were not available. Thei winter ale also had a good range of flavors, but again, Sam Adams cans have tenden to feel very "watered down" these days.
Overall, all these cans and flavors were drinkworthy, but some were better than others and I feel sure that there will be favoroite in their for everyone..
