Does not run over cords, but, cannot navigate. First try it gave up after 1 sq meter. Second try it did the kitchen and most of the living room. 3rd time I carried it to the far bedroom ad it could not navigate out of the bedroom. 4th time I put it in The hallway facing away from the bedroom. It could not find the bathroom or the 2nd bedroom.

We have two dogs who shed an enormous amount. The iRobot is able to maneuver around every nook to capture all the hair. It goes back to its station, dumps the debris, and continues on. The map scanner is 100% on target. It frees up time and increases content.

The Roomba J7 is an excellent robot when used on wood floors. The suction rating of this vacuum is lower than some other robot vacs but is enough when used on wood floors. I only have wood floors in my home, so this vacuum works great for me. The ability to recognize objects in its path is a great feature. No more cable caught up in the vac, like my Roomba 650 tends to do. For an on-sale price of $299, this was definitely a deal.

I have owned 3 Roomba's in my lifetime. This one is by far the best. It mapped out my whole house and i chose which places or rooms I wanted avoided and set up a schedule. It cleaned better than any of the others I have purchased. I love it. I have been telling everyone about it.

I love walking around the house barefoot without stepping on unidentifiable little things on the floor. I do have to empty the waste container every 2-3 days though or it becomes overfull and doesn't seem to alert me when it is. It should have a flashing red light or a beep when it is full. It does get stuck sometimes or wound up on a carpet fiber and you have to go searching under beds and desks until you find it. Overall, I like it.

Pros: Handles obstacles well; Thorough in getting around the room; Decent suction; Allows you to select specific rooms to clean once it's mapped your home. Cons: Extremely loud; app is a bit clunky; had to reconnect it several times; bin does not hold very much and is messy when removing it. Overall--I am satisfied with the performance knowing that I got this on sale for half price. Would have been really disappointed if I'd paid full price. Most dissapointing aspect is how loud this vaccum is. It's as loud as a regular full-size vaccum, so don't plan to be working on a laptop or watching TV while this thing is running nearby.

The robot cleans, well, but a large percentage of time it fails to finish cleaning. I think when it is low on power it doesn't always return to the homebase and seems to get confused. Sometimes it actually cleans the room. There wasn't designated in other time just stops. Maybe it will get better

I upgraded to the J9 self emptying vacuum from a much older model. I LOVE this one so much and am so happy with my purchase. I love being able to choose a room or rooms to vacuum and what order I want to vacuuming them in. I also love that it self empties! We have 2 cats and a dog and it is doing a great job with the hair.

This is our second iRobot (first was an s9+). This is considerably quieter while vacuuming -- we briefly wondered if the vacuum part was broken when it went on its first cleaning run, but it quickly became clear that it was indeed cleaning. This model is also smarter than the s9 about navigating around furniture, avoiding dangling cords and shoelaces, etc. We've still had to rescue it a couple times when it got caught in some furniture (it loves to get trapped in the chair and table legs of the dining room set) but it recovers well after we give it a hand. Solid purchase.

The vacuum is not good for pet hair. Couldn’t clean half of our 1900 square foot house without leaving big clumps of dog hair in its wake. My lab is not a big shedder so surprising it couldn’t handle it. It also rolled a lot of the corners of my rugs. I returned it.
