One of the first gins I ever tried. Not the greatest taste but you get more for your money. Tastes a bit cheap but better than New Amsterdam in comparison. Doesn't have the full botanical flavor I like in other gins. Essentially, it would do in a pinch.

This was my first foray into gin but I really liked it. It was very good for a lower priced product. It was smoother then other types of liquor that I have had before. There seemed to be floral notes to it that I really liked, especially when added to a batch of lavender lemonade. Would repurchase.

Solid dry gin for a home bar. Makes a decent basic gin and tonic, and a classic for dry martinis and gibsons. It has a very clean flavor without much of an alcohol burn. Affordable, widely available, would recommend for people to keep as a basic bar staple.

This is the worst bottle shelf gin. It’s well swill. This is what you should use to disinfect your thermometer after you’ve confirmed that you have a fever. The taste is as bad as the smell and it burns going down. Far from smooth, this is not for sipping by any means.

I am an avid gin connoisseur, and have tried my brands of gin in my day. I settled on BeefEaters several years ago. I have 2 gin and sodas almost every night! This gin is very smooth, not too florally and does not have a lot of the evergreen taste which often steers people away from gin. This is the perfect gin, in my opinion!

We have two bottles of Beefeater’s in our home bar: a 40-year-old unopened bottle from my father-in-law’s bar we keep as a remembrance and the bottle we use. It’s longevity as a top gin brand speaks for itself. Great in gin and tonics, clear and crisp with middle tones of citrus and the forward juniper that is gin’s most distinctive tasting note. A must have staple in any bar.

Mixing: Beefeater is a workhorse of the mixing world; while it won’t ever win accolades for the most intriguing or dazzling flavour profile, it delivers pretty much everything one expects from a traditionally-styled London dry gin. It is quite at home in cocktails ranging from a G+T through to a Martini, although the latter lacks just a touch of crispness that some find particularly enticing about the drink. We are splitting hairs mind you, with a raft of drinks from the sourness of the Pegu Club through to the Absinthe-spiked orange fruitiness of the Monkey Gland. Particular success is seen when the spicy notes are highlighted such as by substituting the regular sugar syrup for a ginger syrup in the Gin Cocktail, or indeed by adding in some complimentary smoky tea notes in the Lapsang Martinez. Light, refreshing and fruity too is a successful angle for this gin which manages to tread the fine line between delivering a healthy hit of ginny-ness and slinking into the background almost perfectly. A Raspberry Collins or indeed the signature Green Goddess (recipe below) make for a wonderfully refreshing tipple.

Beefeater is a classic gin that belongs on the top shelf. If I don’t purchase Tanqueray then Beefeater it is. They have so many different types and flavors. I prefer to purchase this in the gift box because when I do it’s usually a gift. Sometimes when I buy for myself, I also buy the one in the box and save the box just Incase when I am buying as a gift and they’re out of bottles in the box, all I have to do is put it inside the saved box then give it as a gift. These gifts usually go to my doctor and his nurses & staff.

Beefeater is not pricey at all and will work well with a classic gin and tonic. I drink this when I don’t want to spend a lot of money on gin, or am having friends over and don’t want to use the more expensive stuff. It’s a great, low cost alternative!

Not my favorite. One, gin is not my liquor of choice, and Beefeater has a much "beefier" flavor than I would prefer. Basic packaging. I think I have a shotglass that came with the bottle. They have pretty decent marketing. Only bought once, probably would not buy again.
