I don't know if they will be attracted by the purple light, but the fan works well and is able to pull a small insect to the bottom of the device, where the sticky disk is located. There is a slight noise when the device is turned on. But there are no foreign smells.

Not having to use chemicals to get rid bugs is my favorite part of the trap. We have a screened in porch and get bugs out there. It worked fantastic for that. I'd highly recommend this project

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The STEM Flying Insects Fan trap is people and pet friendly. It is free of chemicals and pesticides. It has dual technology- UV light and fan. It comes with five glue traps. To set up, you simply rotate the upper part of the device counterclockwise. Remove the protective peel from the glue trap to expose the sticky surface. Place the glue trap onto the device base, sticky side up, insert and rotate bottom of the device counterclockwise to close it. Plug a device into an indoor wall socket and select fan speed and duration. Keep plugged in 24/7 and when it’s full unplug, then replace with a new glue trap. I love the modern touchscreen capabilities, the quiet fan and the UV light. Although, the fan does have a very low whistle if you are sensitive to that type of noise. I’ll be using mine on the patio area this spring because I don’t have bugs inside. I do recommend this product.

I like how the insect trap portion is hidden, the UV attractive light, and the fan to keep the insects inside so they get stuck to the sticky trap you place inside. The size is decent, but maybe a little large for some circumstances. The touch panel is a nice touch but unnecessary. I think i would much prefer the cost effectiveness of simple switches that might save us as consumers in the long run. I also wasn't too fond of the placement of the cord on the side. Rear placement would have been much better and give more options for setting up in certain locations. Other than these minor inconveniences, i think this is a great little unit, and one that will see much use.

This device also has a uv light that is dim enough to not be distracting in the dark. Now for the main function, this works fairly well. It seems to attract flies similar to the old school tape with an led light. All in all very impressed.

The design is sleek with touch buttons to adjust the fan speed and run time (always on, 3, 8, or 12 hours). The UV light is subtle and doesn’t bother me even at night. 🌙 However, I will note that on high fan speed it does have a slight sound. It’s super easy to use—just twist, drop in a sticky disc, and go! This is a great option for those with kids. 👍 It does also need to be plugged into an outlet so might be limited placement.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] First of all, this device is smaller than I expected and very cute which is not typical for a device designed to trap and kill bugs! It takes a little while for the fan to start catching bugs so you have to be a little patient but it’s not very loud on the lower setting and I kind of enjoy the hum of it. The price is great, especially that the refill traps are so cheap. This is nice to use outdoors too on my balcony, I just take it with me and bring it back in when I’m done sitting outside. Overall, a great buy!!
