My entire family love boiled peanuts. This product is delicious.

I have bought these from Sam's for years. My entire family have, and we love them. I am so very disappointed in Sam's for discontinuing this product. With this product now gone and the carribean delights Jamaican Patty's now gone and replaced with a nasty tasting one. Sam's has forced us to go and get a BJ's membership just to purchase such item's. Now it comes down to figuring out if we should cancel the Sam's membership because there's no need for both.

I love Cajun spiced boiled peanuts. I was buying them, roadside, from the "Peanutman" along highway 46 in Sorento, Florida, since the 80's. With the new road construction, he seems to have disappeared many years ago. I was, making them at home, on the stove and in a pressure cooker, for the past 10 or so years. By the time, I bought the peanuts, spices, peppers and such, it was costing quite a bit of money. Plus, the time, to go get them, wash and cook them, for a good day and a half, I had a lot of time and money, invested in a small batch of nuts, that weren't even as good, as roadside. I did try the one's in the can, but they seemed to be, not very spicy, nor cooked as well and most of them, were too small or didn't even have any peanuts in them. I have never heard of Papa John's, until a recent search on Google. I saw these and figured, I better check them out. I went to the nearest Sam's and bought 3 bags for 20 something bucks. That's a lot cheaper, than what I was paying, to make a small batch (about 4lbs.). When I got home, I threw some in a bowl and cooked them in the microwave, for about 5 minutes. They weren't very good. I thought I got ripped off and contemplated, taking 2 bags back. Then I thought, hold on, perhaps, they should be cooked in water, as they way they are supposed to be. To my surprise, that's all it took. They came out pretty darn good. I could take a lil more heat (spice), but I am "Officially", a new fan of Papa John's. As a matter of fact. I am down to half a bag, so I am heading to Sam's, after a chit n shower.
