Was skeptical of purchasing this item with the less than a handful of negative reviews out there. If you can install a app in your phone and know how to run a computer you can program and run this machine just fine. I found nothing wrong with the manual. Basic onscreen menu driven programming with onscreen keypad input . This register is lightning fast and the screen touch controls work flawlessly with your pointer finger.

We bought this and it is FANTASTIC. Easy to program and a cheap alternative to an expensive Point of Sale system. I am buying 2 more for my other stores!

This is really a great system. works well, instructions could be much better though. They should enclose a wiring chart. ***Do not plug the scanner into the side of the cash register***** There is really only one guy in the support center. (He is good) Be prepared to spend awhile entering your items. Even using the bar code scanner it takes about a minute for each item. You will get out of this what you put in it. This is NOT a simple cash register. Set up properly, it tells me what to order and keeps up with the hundreds of items I sell. Buy the scanner, you have no reason to buy this type of register if you don't need one. I purchased this instead of a real "Point Of Sale" system. I saved thousands of dollars and would buy it again.

Really nice product. If you need help just call customer support they walk you through the learning process in like 30 minutes and your on your own with no more help needed.

Royal does not support this machine at all. Support is provided by a service center in Lexington KY. The one person assigned is very good and very helpful. Parts come from China, and if it is not a part on hand, there is a long wait. Since I am in Louisville, I drove there and got a loaner while awaiting my replacement touch screen. If you are some distance away, I suspect you would have to ship your register in and do without until it is shipped back. The machine is easy to program and produces a variety of useful reports--on paper tape. All it downloads is the daily report of sales by department (.txt) and the journal--in proprietary format. You can view the journal through the dedicated download program, but you cannot enlarge the image. You can print the journal tape, and I print it to PDF. I OCR/scan the paper reports. This was the most capable machine I found without going to a P.O.S. system that costs more than my business did. I suspect there is a P.O.S. lobby that blocks producing a cash register with more features or a full data download.

I have been trying for weeks to get some of my questions answered through Royal support but that service is not provided through them and I had to contact a third party service provider with only one person to provide help, but this person is never available. I'm still waiting for someone to contact me after two weeks of me receiving the product. I have a business that requires a cash register and I still don't have it up and running.

Don't buy it! It's horrible! I returned it after 2 days! It freezes and is nothing but problems save your self the headache
