The proof (120) shows right away, but it’s not just heat — there’s depth. On the nose I smell vanilla, oak, caramel, and a touch of leather or smoke. When you take a sip, there are strong notes of brown sugar, maple syrup, dark fruit, and lots of oak char. The mouthfeel is thick and somewhat syrupy, and though it burns a bit (thanks to the proof), it warms nicely and the flavors hold up. The finish is long, with lingering spice, oak, and a bit of dryness that makes you appreciate that extra sip. What I don’t love as much: the heat can be intense early on - might be a lot for someone newer to high-proof bourbons. Also, because it’s single barrel, you can get quite a bit of variation bottle to bottle. One moment it might be oak-heavy, the next more fruit-forward. And maybe a little less value if you’re comparing to lower proof bourbons with smoother profiles.

Well balanced bourbon with reach aroma. The body is full and aftertaste is a little bit sweet. The impression from drinking is amazing, it makes you drinking is slowly to extend the experience.

My husband loved it. He smelled amazing after his shower, so it’s safe to say it smells amazing! Packaging is great for a simple men’s body wash! The whiskey smell was legit my favorite! Would definitely use again!

Smooth & full wonderful finish. Strong and not overbearing. Definitely comes to life over a frozen cube but be aware it is not for the weak. Great finish after a full meal. Nice bottle in liquor cabinet.

I have enjoyed Knob Creek 9 year for a long time. I like it neat or on the rocks depending on my mood. I even like it with 7up on a hot afternoon. Don't laugh, it makes a great cooler.
