beautil and perfect size

A Roman numeral "4/FOUR" should be written as "IV". On this clock, it is written as "IIII". IIII is not a real Roman numeral!! I thought something looked "off" about it & nearly hung this clock on my wall, but it was my 5th grader who identified the error. Is this clock maker smarter than a 5th grader? Doesn't appear to be.

I have bought this clock for everyone in my family since they loved how it looked in my family room. Its a great looking clock for the price. I see some reviews where people say theirs didn't work but mine did that when I tried their battery. I used my own battery and had no problem.

I bought this clock over the Sam's club website. Beautiful but tried 4 different batteries worked for 10 minutes the quit!! Sick of it. It's not the batteries . Poor quality mechanism that holds battery. Taking it back. Paid 13.00 delivery charge. Going back. Too bad,, really liked the look of clock.

Got this for my mother as a gift. She told me that I shouldn't have spent so much money on it. She loved it, and the best part other than its good looks great is that it's quiet. This may sound small, but what makes a difference is that it comes with a battery.

I bought this clock. Inserted the battery and hung it. It worked for 4 hours. So, like a dummy I went and bought more batteries and inserted a new one . It worked about an hour. All the directions said do not return. Call company. Another dummy me mistake. They don't email or call back with a solution. Guess I'll just return it to Sams.

One of the reasons why IIII was used at that time could be explained by Roman mythology. Back then, Rome's supreme deity was Jupiter, god of the sky and thunder and king of the gods in Ancient Roman religion. In Latin, Jupiter was spelt IVPPITER. As you don't mess with gods, Romans might have felt hesitant to engrave part of their supreme deity's name on a sundial or printed in books. This is why the number IIII, even though inconvenient, might have been prefered over IV.

Had the perfect place for it and it looked great. It ran for about 10 min and stopped working. Everything I tried didn't get it to work. Now it's a non working clock in a perfect spot. When I find a replacement. I'll take it down and throw it away. Real disappointing.

After reading the reviews I was a bit skeptical about ordering this clock but so glad I did. It's not flimsy junk! It's very well made and very easy to hang. I read where someone commented on the #4 being IIII instead of IV being incorrect but it's actually correct form of clock work numbers and a quick search will confirm that so maybe not listen to an elementary age child and look it up lol I wastsure if I would like the large round frame around the clock but it's lovely and the background is nice as well. On in all it looks and feels like a high end clock. Now mind you there are some basic things to follow like not laying the clock flat. The face of the clock is encased in glass really making this clock spectacular. I have seen many clock fades with hands exposed to bending damage etc. anyway I hope this review helps

The clock is beautiful, functional, and is a great addition to our home.
