My ""Go To"" tire is the Alitimax RT43

I work in the automotive field and recommend tires for specific applications to clients on a daily basis. The Altimax RT43 has become a very common and practical choice for many drivers, myself included. No other tire in it's price range comes close to delivering the reliable performance and longevity of the Altimax RT43. I even installed a set on my college-bound daughter's car. I guess you could say that the Altimax RT43 also delivers a secure state of mind too!

Altimax RT 43

I've had these tires for about 1000 miles now. So far I have driven in dry and wet weather. The traction is very good in rain and the handling is good on dry pavement. The ride is softer than my previous tires, which I like. I bought these tires mainly for the good reviews in snowy conditions so hopefully I will see the improvement this winter.

One of the best traveling tires around.

I use the tires as a daily driver tire, 100 mile round trip, 5 days a week for work. The tires perform Quiet on highway and definitely soak up the rough highways roads we experience in today's travels anymore. Use on several of my other vehicles, and highly recommend to friends and family.

Excellent performance. Very quiet. Great deal.

All season tires. Yes. Quiet. Yes. Beautiful. Yes. Why are they beautiful? The design includes wear indicators on when the tread is too worn and you need to replace. The tires are quiet and the ride is true to the road. Very affordable. Just an incredible bang for your buck. I bought these tires also because my stock tires wore out quickly. These tires have an above average safety rating and are all weather and affordable and come with beautiful features.

Great Tires!

I purchased two sets of the General AltiMax RT43 tires. One set went on my Honda Civic and the other on our Honda Odyssey. Both sets are just over one year old and they are wearing very well. The ride is good, quiet and traction is good. I would purchase them again.

Great all season tire

The General AltMAX RT 43 has got to be the best tire I've ever seen in it's class. Reasonably priced, long tread life, holds the road  in dry, wet, and even light snow well. And best of all, the tire is very quiet on the road. I've bought four complete tire sets so far. Two for my cars, two for my daughters cars. Just hope they don't stop making them.

Well worth buying

They are better than a four, but they are brand new. I had a set of General Grabber's on my 94 Ford Ranger for about 4 1/2 years and got about 60k on them when they were finally about worn out with 2-3/32 of tread on them. So I was going to buy another set because they were great.  However they didn't make them in my size so I bought these instead in the last week of June 2019, and man and I happy.  These are EXTREMELY quiet was the first thing I noticed.  They had an initial grip from being virgin rubber that I really like but I thought that would wear away very quickly.  So far I've put 1000 miles on them in dry and most recently a severe down pour with several inches of rain that I had a very long drive in.  THey performed like no body's business.  Not a single bit of hydroplaning or squirly steering at all.  Gripped the roads during sharp turns at high speeds all the time.  I can't rate tread life due to being new and I can't rate fuel effiency because they haven't changed it.

Good performance, and less wear than others

I now own 5 sets of the AltiMAX RT43 (Odessey, CR-V, Camry, Camry, Matrix).  I compared them primarily with the Michelin Defender, which used to be my go-to tire.  The Generals are significantly less expensive, we see no change in road noise or performance, and I cannot tell any difference in the rate at which they wear.

Great Tire at a Great Price

I have 10k miles on my Generals and am very happy. I was disappointed that I didn't get to try them in any snow to see how they did. But ride quality, wet performance, noise are all above average. Are there better tires? Yes, but not many. And all of those are twice the price. Will I buy again? Yes. Even if I only were to get 30k miles out of them. But they have hardly worn any at all so far. Buy them. You will like them.

A premium tire for a budget price!

I did my research looking for a good set of tires, after buying a recommendation from a tire store.  Those tires were a royal disappointment in the first rain storm after the install.  I found 4+ third party tire rating videos that gave the Altimax RT 43s a 5 star rating.  Still kind of skeptical, I noticed my military buddy had them on his car.  He has about a 70 mile commute everyday, and personal obligations that turn him into a road warrior most weekends.  Throughout my mini interrogation, he had nothing bad to say about the tire.  I was SOLD.  Since then, I have purchased 4 sets for all my cars and truck.  They have safely gotten my wife and I through heavy down pours, up and down some soft and soggy dirt roads, and even up some hills in snow just under 3"" without even a hint of slipping.  I had some light spinning in 4+ inches, but made it without issue.  The ride is good to go, noise levels way better than previous tires.  Would I buy another set?  YES!!
