Great Tire At Great Price

Bought for 2001 Avalon over a year ago. 15,000 miles and still beefy in front/ look full tread in rear (haven't rotated them yet). One of the better all seasons I've ever used in the snow and, during one major ice storm, kept me on the road for a 22 mile drive home. Bought some for a sister's Nissan Versa... price was super good again and she loves them. She doesn't drive that much, and isn't much of a car person, but has said more than once they are quiet and she feels confident to drive in the rain.

Very Pleased

Bought a set of four and now have 35,000 on them...they look like they'll make it another 35K. I always have an alignment done when I buy new tires as well. I rotate every 5000 miles and check air pressure at least once a month.  That being said, these tires still look fantastic.  The treadwear is about as perfect as one could ask..even around the whole tire circumference and width.  Minus the tread depth from the 35K miles of use, the tread still looks new...nice and clean!  Never had a problem with their handling (dry, wet, snow covered highways).  I've never been more pleased with a set of tires.

These tires never disappoint

This is the second set of RT43s I've put on my wife's car and they perform exceptionally well in all conditions. She got 77,000 miles out of the first set with properties inflation and rotation every 5,000 miles. The tires ride very smooth and quiet.

great all around tire

bought these tires 30k ago and they still look new and are quiet. they have great dry traction, perform very well in the wet and resist hydroplaning at highway speeds. they performed well enough in the snow and ice that i didn't have to buy a set of winter tires.

Great fit for Prius

I put these on my Prius before the winter and I've been very pleased with them. I have put about 6,000 miles on the tires and have found that they are very quiet so far. The best feature is that they seem to perform very well in winter conditions for an all-season tire. I have also found that they are good in wet conditions as well. Gas mileage seems to be pretty good too.

Not my first rodeo with the AltiMax tire

I purchased my first AltiMax tire for my Tacoma truck several years ago. When it was time to replace the tires on my CR-V General tire was my first choice. This is a good all season tires that has good tread life, performs in the rain and sweltering heat.

wierd ride characteristics

Only about 2500 mi on tires (225/65/17 on Dodge Caravan).  Quiet, with only a slight tread hum on smooth asphalt.  Terrific wet & dry traction.  Track straight & true, no wandering, no balance problems.  At mfr recommended 36 PSI they are very harsh riding.  Reduce that about 3 PSI and they become a different tire.  At 33 PSI I can't tell any difference in handling, just harshness.  Remains to be seen whether they can be run at the lower pressure without wearing down the outside edges.

Good performance, and less wear than others

I now own 5 sets of the AltiMAX RT43 (Odessey, CR-V, Camry, Camry, Matrix).  I compared them primarily with the Michelin Defender, which used to be my go-to tire.  The Generals are significantly less expensive, we see no change in road noise or performance, and I cannot tell any difference in the rate at which they wear.

Love these tires

I purchased these tires last fall. They were driven throughout a harsh upstate New York winter. The tires performed well in deep snow; and on ice. I would purchase them again. They are a little road noisy; probably due to the deep tread. However, I would take safety any day over a little road noise. They are also well priced & affordable.

Well worth buying

They are better than a four, but they are brand new. I had a set of General Grabber's on my 94 Ford Ranger for about 4 1/2 years and got about 60k on them when they were finally about worn out with 2-3/32 of tread on them. So I was going to buy another set because they were great.  However they didn't make them in my size so I bought these instead in the last week of June 2019, and man and I happy.  These are EXTREMELY quiet was the first thing I noticed.  They had an initial grip from being virgin rubber that I really like but I thought that would wear away very quickly.  So far I've put 1000 miles on them in dry and most recently a severe down pour with several inches of rain that I had a very long drive in.  THey performed like no body's business.  Not a single bit of hydroplaning or squirly steering at all.  Gripped the roads during sharp turns at high speeds all the time.  I can't rate tread life due to being new and I can't rate fuel effiency because they haven't changed it.
