This is not the same as the great thick bacon that came 36 slices to a pack. This is juat egular cut bacon, which is better than the thin slice in the 72 pack, but it is a dissappointment if you prefer the previously sold thick cut. So whether Sams or Hormel, its just a bad gimmick.

I agree with Chace1693, this is not the same bacon as what Sam's used to sell. This bacon does not taste as good and is not as thick. Yes, you get 12 more slices but I'd rather get less for better taste. I looked at my past purchases and the Black Label Thick Cut "Reserve" is not longer available. This is NOT a thick cut. It's the same thickness as the previous Sam's used to sell. They changed the name to thick cut, reduced the bacon amount, and raised the price.

This used to be 80 calories for 2 slices and now it's 60 calories. Nothing "thick" about this bacon at all. It's MUCH smaller than cooking comparable hormel thick cut bacon yourself. Honestly it's thinner than regular bacon. Smaller slices and higher cost makes this a pass for me from now on.

The most important thing is a Microwave that's 1100 to 1200 of power! I set my microwave for 1 minutes 10 seconds to get crispy bacon and 1 minute 15 seconds for well done and crispy! Test your bacon at a lower power setting to see what's needed for your microwave to get it to your desire!! Your results could differ depending on your microwave power! I'm now able to get crispy bacon whenever i want it. For the true Thick cut bacon fan it may be disappointing? I would say that it's thicker than the regular cut bacon!

Nice and crisp after microwave cooking. Good for sandwiches.
