Great All Around Tire!

Very pleased with this purchase! I bought them to replace the original tires on my Cadillac CTS and have to say they are just as good if not better than the original Michelin's. They have fantastic grip even in heavy rail, the road noise is about the same as the OEMs. Overall a great tire for the money. Definitely buying these again in the future. Don't waste your money on other more expensive brands!

Verified Purchase

Just bought

I just purchased the tires and have not driven the car much but did drive on slick wet roads and they seem to ride and grip pretty well

Good tire once the flat spot goes away

When my car has been sitting all night or day, the tires seem to flat spot and the ride is bumpy for a few miles until the flat spot works it's way out. Other than that they are good tires. Traction seems to be really good in the rain (haven't had snow since I bought them) and they have a former sideway than the Michelins I had so they don't seem to roll in curves. Probably not the traction of the Michelins on a track but I don't drive in a track and they give me a more stable feeling in curves at road speeds.

HYDROPLANE crazy on wet roads on the FWY!!!

Not that good traction on dry roads and definitely not good on wet roads! These tires hydroplane on the freeway. I'm not talking about loosing tractions when accelerating. When hitting minor puddles on the freeway the rear end swings from lane to lane!

Great for the Price

I bought these tires a few months back because of the good price, good reviews and the fact that they had a rebate available at the time.  I didn't have much money so these were the best choice for me.  However, when compared to others from the same category, these tires have a much softer and more complaint ride but still retain a decent amount of stick in the corners.  They also perform admirably in the wet compared to their competition.  If I had to classify these tires, I would say they belong in the high performance category of tires and not in the UHP category.  Really good for a sports sedan at best but not recommended for sports car level feedback and control.  If your looking for a decent tire that performs well in the wet with good grip and a comfortable ride, this tire is fantastic.

Sporty tire good all around snow OK

I bought these tires September 2018 and now it's April 2019.  I have them on my 2008 Subaru Impreza Sport.  They are sporty, handle well, tight corners, great grip on dry and wet.  In Norther Utah snow they don't perform as well as a snow tire of course but do pretty well.  I'm sure the AWD helps.  I've gone skiing multiple times in the snow and have only slid once although I'm quite experienced in snow driving.  Price was great.  Tread wear descent.  Noise seems fine.  Really fun tire to drive on and performs well in all conditions.

Finally found a tire doesn't wear out prematurely

My car (Lexus IS 350 F Sport - AWD) is known for going through tires very quickly (typically 15,000 - 18,000 miles). After trying tires by Bridgestone (OEM), Cooper and Continetal, I finally tried the General Tire G-Max AS 05's. I have just purchased my second set of the G-Max tires and I have been very happy with them in terms of handling, lack of road noise, durability, etc. The fact that they are competitively priced means I will likely stick with these tires for as long as I own this car.

Great performance.

Needed to replace the tires on my BMW Z3 Roadster and was considering a more expensive tire.  After talking with the salesman, I decided to try the General AS-05. Not only was it a great price, they had a rebate offer to go along with it.  One of the best choices I have made in a long time.  I cannot say enough about how well this tire has preformed.  I have had them for 2-3 months and am thrilled at the way they have preformed on the road.  No mushy feeling, no fishtailing.  When they need replacing I will definitely be getting another set.

Quiet, decent grip, good for street driving

2017 BRZ, occasional autocross.  This tire does not hold up well in autocross.  Not enough grip for racing, BUT... This is an excellent tire for the road!  Quiet, grippy on the road for normal driving.  I am a spirited driver and street driving it completely satisfied me.  Way more than enough grip than you need, but just not for autocross, as expected.    This tire squeal when they approach their limit, which is good warning sign, especially for drivers who is not familiar with the limited state of their car.

A very good tire for the price.

I don't daily drive my Camaro SS. But I've put around 5,000 miles on them so far. I consider them a very good tire for the price. I basically drive aggressively in a straight line only. So I really can't tell you how they do in curves. But IMO I think they would do good in the curves. The reason why I say that, is because they do good in the wet. So far, there not noisy and they take bumps good. After I try out some Toyos and they disappoint me, I'll go back to the G-Max AS-05'S, if there still a good price.
