Best tires

A buddy convinced me to use his tire guy, who talked me into buying bargain brand tires that saved a couple hundred bucks, over the Michelins that I've always used. I took it on a 300 mile hunting trip that weekend, and they “wallowed,” and the kicker was on the return trip from Del Rio, high winds over a long elevated bridge sent the truck into an “oscillation” that nearly put us into a head on. I took it back, paid for new Michelins and another hundred for the trouble… it was worth it! Those tires right now have 72K miles on them, and I'll probably get another 10k easy… and I don't drive bald tires!

Installed 17 Years & Still Great Tread & Running Smooth

Had 4 of these put on my truck in 2003 and all still have good tread and have had ZERO issues. Changing these out for 4 new Michelins X LT AS just because of age. Decided to go with the other model due to the reviews here and I hope it will not be a mistake.

On my 2nd set on Escape!

My 2015 Escape came equipped with the worst (not Michelin) high performance tires on earth and literally were breaking apart in a short time. I was advised the Defenders were the best and I'm on my 2nd set. I've had Blizzaks on this car, but now that they're worn out, I find the Defenders do the job all seasons in Michigan!

Comfortable, quiet tires with excellent wet traction.

I have this tire on a 2018 Toyota Highlander Hybrid XLE Tire is very comfortable and quiet. I like the wet and dry performance of this tire even when pushed hard. It can easily handle the 306hp the highlander has to offer during hard acceleration, braking and turning.

A new version of an already excellent tire!

Have had direct experience with this particular tire since 2006 when they were supplied as original equipment on the Honda Ridgeline. Now as a retired import technician, I can honestly say that I have never seen a problem with these tires under normal driving conditions. With normal tire rotation, tire pressure checks, and correct wheel alignment, I have seen them last well past 130,000 kilometres before reaching the wear markers. They are a great tire for light duty trucks and SUV's. I personally recommended and installed these tires to many customer vehicles with very positive results always. I can say with confidence that my recent set of improved LTX Defenders that I installed on my 2008 Honda Ridgeline have exceeded expectations. They are quiet, have great road feel, and improved grip in slippery conditions.

Better than factory tires

On my 2017 RAM 1500 Limited, the factory tires lasted as expected, about 17k miles. I've been a Michelin LTX fan for about 15 years. The Defender LTX MS didn't disappoint. They have a MUCH smoother ride than the factory tires ever did and handle very well. I've had them a few months now and can't yet see treadwear, but I know from Michelin experience they will last many many years.

Very Pleased With Performance

I was actually thinking about the comfort and the smooth ride I get with these Tires and I like them enough to buy again. The cracking and appearance of My old one's is rushing Me, I'm only at 50% or maybe 40% tread, I would be able to get another Season or 2 at least.....it'd be worth the money then.

CReaM, we'd suggest that you have the tires inspected by a Michelin retailer in your area to get more info on the cracking. Call us at 866-866-6605 from their store. One of our Consumer Care Team members can assist you.

Best tire tread wear. Great traction in rain and snow!

I bought these tires over a year ago. I have had numerous sets of this tire due to the quality being uncompromising. Traction, tread ware, quality. That's why I keep going back to to Michelin. I've had other brands, Yokohama, Goodyear, etc. Michelin perform and wear better. You pay for what you get especially when it comes to tires. Well worth the price every time!

Disappointment- LTX M/S Poor Wear

I was a Michelin Man for life until I got 50,000 miles out of my 70,000 mile LTX M/S tires. I paid the higher price to get the mileage that Michelin is known for so I'm really disappointed. My friends are saying the same- they just don't last like they used to. I highway drive back and forth to work and do the occasional hunting trips in my Nissan Titan LE so there is no reason on my part for the excessive tire wear. Sure, to make it better they will give me the 20% for the wear but that does not cover (1) the extra I paid to begin with and (2) all of the extra cost of going thru the mounting process 20,000 miles earlier than expected.
