Three years ago, we purchased our first Tempur-Pedic mattress. We purchased a split king with the adjustable and vibrating bed. The vibrating feature takes some getting used to! I have arthritis and spent most nights tossing and turning on my old mattress. I would like to tell my fellow arthritis sufferers that this mattress cures all. The truth is... I am a moderate sufferer of arthritis and the mattress has allowed me to get a solid nights sleep on most nights. There are still those occasions that nothing helps. However, the tossing and turning is now the exception verses the normal night's sleepand I typically wake with much more energy. For my wife, the mattress has become a lifestyle. She looks forward to sitting or lying in her bed at night and often retires hours early, simply to enjoy the comfort of her mattress. We have noticed that my side of the bed always seems softer. We think this is because I am not only heavier, but also a warmer person. The firmness tends to vary based on temperature. I believe it is actually designed this way for arthritis but it is something to be aware of. Last year, we purchased a second mattress for our son. He too has noticed a significant difference in his sleep. He indicated that he wakes with much more energy than ever before. We give the mattress a 4 only because not everyone can afford them. We have owned many mattresses and tested Tempur Pedic's biggest competitor. We wouldn't give any of them higher than a rating of 3. We have purchased two mattress sets, 8 sets of bamboo sheets (which are super durable and comfortable!!!) and 2 Tempur Pedic contour pillows for side sleepers (took some getting used to but now can't sleep without). I highly recommend any of their products, but find a Tempur Pedic store and find out for yourself.

If you have low back problems this is definitely not the bed for you! Unfortunately when you are purchasing these beds, the sales staff doesn't make proper recommendations. For these expensive beds the sales people should know what they are selling and the impact of bed on bodies. Huge loss of money when bed only causes bigger back issues.

It's noticeably different than any other sleep experience and has remained that way for the whole first year. With two people sleeping on it, changes in position by one doesn't affect the other. Overall this was a great purchase and I would make it again in a second.

Excellent. Feel better in the AM...very good support. My husband has extensive spinal surgery and needed a quality firm mattress. So I went out and found it. Very nice salesperson - "Grant" in Merritt Island Mattress Barn Store. He is probably the reason we bought that mattress. No high pressure, but readily answered all questions and remained polite and amiable. Very expensive.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My Grandmother use to say... always buy good shoes and mattress, because if your feet hurt and you don't get a good nights sleep you are a miserable person. Our first Tempur-pedic was the original Tempur-pedic mattress. We have had it for 20 years. After 20 years I felt like we needed more support, but my husband was still loving our original. He said whatever I wanted and I went and picked out the firm. We love it and my back is not hurting anymore. We were due for a new mattress and 20 years is a good example of the Tempur-pedic longevity. We have always loved our Tempur-pedic products! When we go on vacation....its always good to come back to our comfortable and supportive bed!

The first two nights I thought I was going to need back surgery my back hurt so bad. I thought we made an awful mistake, but it's now been almost 4 months and the mattress is really amazing. It's so comfy. I used to spend a lot of time on the chaise when web surfing or watching tv. Now my go to spot is the bed.

I've tried four mattresses in the past four years, several major brands and types, but just couldn't find one that worked for both my wife and I. I was told it would take 6 months to break in this mattress. I tried walking on the mattress, kneeling on it, and I did not feel any improvements. I decided to exchange the hybrid for the original all foam soft option. It stinks as well! I've had it 2 weeks now and it still stinks. I walk on it daily before getting into bed. It is starting to break in. I think the model mattresses in the showroom offer false impressions. They've been well broken in before getting to the showroom. The one you get at home is not at all the same. Sales folks could share this information, and also warn about the stench that comes with each new mattress. It's very deceptive.
