Please note that claims of “Holds Ice” or “Still Ice” are based on an industry standard testing protocol. The protocol mandates that a cooler be filled to capacity with cubed ice (100% filled with ice cubes for the test). This standardized way of testing allows customers to compare the expected maximum performance of different sizes and brands of coolers in a standardized and dependable way. Similar to how we compare cars based on gas mileage. A cooler’s performance is directly related to the amount of ice placed inside it. This is the same for coolers all across the market. Also, other factors such as the starting temperature of the contents, and temperatures around the cooler can also impact the coolers performance. Hello Cozy. Thank you for taking time to leave your review. We stand behind our products and want to ensure you are happy with your purchase. Ice packs or ice substitutes with a lower freezing point are preferable because they minimize the amount of condensation that can occur on the bottom of your cooler (i.e. dampness that is caused by the cold air from the cooler meeting the hotter ambient air). Ice packs or ices substitutes can also focus the cold better than loose ice cubes. Crushed ice is not recommended for use in any cooler as testing has shown it does naturally melt faster that ice cubes. Thank you again for your review.
