Purina Dog Chow Complete Adult Chicken Dry Dog Food (57 lbs.)

This is one brand that all 6 of my dogs will eat, while other brands atleast one will turn their nose up to.

Purina Dog Chow so far, has been a go to for us. We are unable to afford all of the expensive "vet preferred" foods, so this has always been a close second that our vet agrees with.

This is the only food my Furkids get. I have put others in front of them only for them to turn their noses up. They have clean healthy teeth and coats. I will continue using this product.

Awesome Brand

[Employee of purina] My dog just loves Purina Dog Chow. That's all she eats. Being a full grown black lab, she goes through a lot of it, so its good its made with great ingredients to keep her healthy and happy.

Great Product!!

I been feeding my dogs purnia for years now. Started from the puppy chow now dog chow. My oldest is 14 now and still loves the food.  I won't get them nothing else. I'm feeding  3 big dogs daily, and eat very well.

Best dog food there is.

I've had 4 dogs thrive on this. The only caveat is that now days, many dogs are developing allergies to chicken and/or corn. Check with your vet first.

great nutriotion and value

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Good Product.  Dogs really enjoy crunchy food.  It is good that it contains real chicken.  Natural products are good for pets.

Natural Ingredients

I wish I  had gotten this 20 lb bag of Purina Dog Chow with real chicken that cost $30. 35 plus tax that my dog has been eating for nine years.  Instead I received an 18.5 lb bag of Purina Dog Chow with chicken flavor that the dog doesn't like and give her diarrhea.  I would have returned the wrong bag; but, because I'm old and couldn't lift it (that's the point of having it delivered) I kept it and gave it to her when she ran out.  Big mistake!  To top it off, the next time I went to Walmart's there was the wrong 18.5 lb bag on the shelf for $15.48.   Walmart owes me over $15. for sending me the wrong dog food  and also they are too cheap to give you lousy paper bags when you spend over $100. very time you go there!!!

Like everything in life now, dog food prices are absolutely insane. I am not only responsible for my dog and his needs, but my roommate's dogs (yes, plural 😭) so five in total. My boy happens to be gigantic so he requires a lot of kibble and the rest are medium-large sized with the last one being a Chihuahua. 

They're all quite picky, you'd think they were born and raised in Beverly Hills with their refined palates so it's a struggle to say the least finding one they'll all eat. Kibble taste aside, I normally add a topper like albacore, shredded boiled chicken breast, rice, just to mix it up for them and make their diet a little less monotonous. The majority of their diet, however, is kibble. 

For the longest I was buying Purina One True Instinct for them because it was one they all loved and ate with no problem. Also, when researching good dog food brands Purina was always near the top of the list. Recently, though, I've had to start purchasing a more affordable kibble and this is the one that I chose since it's also by Purina and the price was great. I was skeptical and nervous they were going to turn their little noses up at it then pee on my carpet in protest but thankfully they did not. I honestly think they like this food better. 

The reason I say that is because there is rarely an empty bowl after feeding time. Now could that be attributed to a difference in nutritional value/content, like the True Instinct is more filling thus they don't have to eat as much to feel full therefore they leave some in their bowl? Possibly. Actually, maybe. 

Regardless, this is bar none the BEST deal money wise, taste wise, etc., that you can find right now for dry dog food so I would not feel apprehensive to buy it as a dog owner if I were you. Purina is one of the best dog food brands, and you can look that up yourself if you wish, as they spend the money on R%26D (research and development) and given that fact I feel safe feeding it to my dog(s) that I love dearly. And you should too. 

Oh, one last thing I feel like I should add: the size of the kibble itself was great. Not too big, not too small. As I told you earlier I have a pretty good and diverse sample size of dogs—the biggest being 120lbs and he's a Shepard mix, the smallest being a Chihuahua. His name is Oakley. With some dog foods I find the kibble size is a tad too big for Oakley but this one was perfect for all the dogs. I also appreciated the kibble not being super colorful as one thing I've noticed with more affordable kibbles is how they've colored pieces bright red and green. That also annoys and upsets me because there's absolutely no reason for my dog's food to contain artificial colorings. He eats sh** for heavens sake, he doesn't care that his food is Christmas themed. Anyway, none of that here, thankfully! Hope this helps someone.
