I used this dog chow for more than 60 years for my pets which all have lived very long lives. Currently I have one 16 yr old and two 14 yr old dogs which I've had since puppies. My only criticism is the recent change in kibble size. It used to all be small in size. Now they've increased the size of two bites, thus making it necessary for me to sort out the small ones for the oldest dog since she can no longer chew large kibble. In the past this food was available without added coloring, which they discontinued apparently to due to poor sales.

my dogs dont like it too much. i recently changed from kibbles and bits to this dog food. the dogs are unhappy. but they need better nutrition and K%26Bs are probably equivalent to humans eating McDs everyday. so im trying to make this purina dog food more appetizing by adding more good protein like eggs or tuna or chicken. theyre so picky.

For some reason this is the only dog food my German Shepard can keep down. Every other dog food brand or type results in rashes %26 vomiting. We've tried so many other brands (even vet recommended brands) even other purina types of dog food. This is the only one that works. I'm not knowledgeable about what's in dog food. But I do know, my GS def prefers this one.

My father worked at Purina for years when I was a little girl, so I know he says they do have high safety standards. I just don't know abt feeding dogs this everyday. Any dog food with any type of meat “by product” means it can be the unused parts of a cow, chicken, turkey, etc. It could be beaks, feathers, feet, claws, etc. Also, it means they can use diseased animals, roadkill, just unhealthy meat that humans would never be allowed to eat for safety reasons. The meat “meal” like chicken meal or beef meal can be either good or poor quality and this depends on how they are processed and handled. If the protein is damaged then it's not a good source of amino acid for dogs. Unfortunately dog food companies are not required to provide what the source of meal is used. So bcuz of those reasons, I have stopped using any dog food with a protein by product or any protein meal. ONCE I STOPPED DOING THIS MY DOGS WERE HEALTHIER %26 SO MUCH HAPPIER! I switched to an air dried human grade dog kibble called Honest Kitchen. They have several different kinds of food. Also, they are a lot more affordable than you think. If you can't afford to give them high grade food like Honest Kitchen, Sundays or Farmer's dog, at least use as a topper for your dogs. No dog should have to eat the same dry kibble that is over cooked with unhealthy meats %26 meals! DO RIGHT BY YOUR DOG! This food is fine, but only if you use a topper that is high quality. Thanks!

My animals have been given Purina their entire lives. They seem to like it, as it gets devoured each day. All remained in good health throughout their lives. They stayed active, alert, and well mannered throughout their lives. All of that, and at a decent price point. One couldn't ask for more!

This is good dog food. The reason I feel prompted to write a review is that I started ordering this dog food from Wal Mart because it was shipped right to my door. I have mobility impairments and door delivery made it possible for me to drag the bags into the house. For some inexplicable reason, they started sending my dog food by USPS! There is no way I can go to the post office, load up the feed, haul it home and unload it! I will be looking for another way to get dog food delivered to my door.

I'm pet sitting two dogs: one 40 lb boxer mix and one Yorkie. Both of them get excited at feeding time and generally clear their bowls. They have nice coats, clear eyes and clean white teeth. I'm honestly thinking of switching my little dog to this food.

I cook ground beef , frozen carrots, green beans, and peas ( no seasoning)in large pot and freeze in individual containers. The grease from the beef is great for dogs coat. I put it on top of the dry food. I used Rachael Ray for awhile but the price got out of control. Went pack to this product and they also like it better! Used it for years. All my dogs live to be 20 years old!! Tip…once a week or so plain yogurt is very good for them also. They love the cold treat.

This cheap dog food gave my dogs diarrhea but that might be bc my dogs are used to the more expensive brands . Bought this twice trying to be cheap and it gave both my dogs diarrhea both times. If you use this food make sure your dog isn't used to the good brands. Pure balance is the dog food I use and it's pricey and healthier.

In the store I can buy 520LB bag (some are 52 or 56 promotional bags) but I can't get them on walmart web page..... some bags have ridiculous, obviously wrong high prices. the product is good but Walmart Web page needs a lot of work. Walmart will not even show up on Amazon radar unless the improve the web content and functionality. I hope they do
