We rescued our dog Bella as a puppy she had parvo when we got her and it messed up her immune system. We feed her Purina dog chow and ever since she has had a beautiful coat and no more rashes when we feed her just a generic dog food she was always having skin rashes and she would have blisters around her mouth since the dog chow she has flawless skin and no more rashes or blisters around her mouth I highly recommend Purina Dog Chow and she just loves it

20 years ago, before all the grain free and holistic dog foods appeared, I had a Great Dane that grew up on Purina Dog Chow. He lived 11 years and never had any health issues. 3 yeas ago I got another Great Dane and was sucked in to all the grain free hype. I fed him what I was convinced was better than Purina. First three ingredients were meat, no corn, no grains, etc.... He never looked as good as my first Dane. His bones and muscle didn't develop right and he was gone before he reached 2 years of age. Today I picked up yet another Great Dane puppy. He's going to definitely be a Purina dog from day one!!! Don't buy into the sales pitch of the new "premium" brands. Stay with the company that has cared for dogs for over 80 years. If sweet potatoes and blackberries were truly essential to your dogs health I'm sure the trusted scientist at Purina would have realized that long ago.

I bought this dog food awhile back and have continued to use it for a couple of major reasons. One the three dogs I have were getting sluggish and not active on another brand. Second The amount of waste and gooey waste was unbelievable with other brands. And third the coats on our dogs were looking dull and dirty all the time .We originally thought maybe it was the wash. But now after feeding our dogs the Purina dog chow all the time the dogs are all back to being lively with Great looking coats. For me the amount of waste I have to pick up is at least half of what it used to be. So Purina Dog Chow is not only Great for my Three dogs it is also Great for me.

The reason I'm giving it 3 stars is I bought it because I didn't have a way to RKO and purina is supposed to be a good brand. After having my fur baby on it for a almost a week her stool is still soft. I'm not sure how long it takes for her stomach to adjust. Or if it's just not the right type of dog food. I am happy that purina is helping vets that's just as important.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My mini-husky has been raised on Purina. There is nothing else he loves better. If it is not Purina Dog Chow - he sniffs and walks away. He is 9 years old, in fact, today is his birthday. He ate some of his Dog Chow this morning and he is waiting patiently for his High Pro Dog Chow can favorite of Hearty Stew sitting on the counter. Special days call for special treats and Purina fulfills that too with canned foods and dog biscuits in many flavors.

I'm a Treeing Walker Coonhound queen that got lost while hunting and then adopted a human family. I walk my human subject 4-5 miles daily and then run at full speed to catch the balls he throws. My favorite food is Purina Dog Chow which I always gobble too fast (urrp!), licking the bowl for crumbs...yum! Purina keeps me healthy, my beautiful coat shiny and gives me the boundless energy characteristic of my breed. Thank you Purina! Love, Poppy

I decided to try Purina Dog Chow for various reasons. One it was plant based. Science says amino acids and protein are just that, with no difference in their source. She stopped itching after eating this food. My two large dogs loved it also. I go through 66 pounds of kibble per month. I couldn't get out of my head "if they have been in business for 80 years how can their food be so bad"?

neither I didn't get anything you've got my groceries you've got my money I got the runaround I got the buck got past and I wasn't helped. now I'm looking for a place to type some more because it wouldn't let me do that I got left off and didn't get to finish

It's cold outside, and i keep this food in the car for when i feed dogs in the cold. I choose this over the cheap food and this is reasonably priced. I have found the dogs will not eat the cheapest food in the store. At least this food has vitamins, minerals and it sticks to their stomach better.

This info was told to me by a vet... I believe it. The high-priced foods that promote high protein and NO grains are not a balanced food for dogs or cats. They need some grains in their food too. If the protein content is very high, then it's not balanced and it's a waste of money. Keep in mind that these high-priced foods are selling the product to YOU, not to your pet. It's really a gimmick. I have always given my dogs Purina and they've lived a normal, healthy life. Don't get fooled by the hype of expensive foods as being better for dogs. They are not what they seem.
