Great little heater used in bathroom. It has a thermostat and cuts itself off when degree setting is reached. it turns back on if the room cools down. It also has hour time settings. I bought a second one for another space.

Love it but confused

I had the exact one for I don't know how many years. Long time. Time ran out on it. So, bought a new one. Surprised it's not being sold in stores like way back when. Shipping was great too as of the choice. And fast. Only four stars because, I'm confused with the new one and not sure if I exchange and all that shipping hassle etc or just deal with it. If setting auto temp, oscillate example 76 degrees, it does as it should. But, then after it shows crazy temp like 83. And takes long time to adjust correctly and room getting chilly in the meantime. And there's no way in my living room is that warm. Or it's location. And I have a thermometer at my side table that says 74. Cause, I would never be able to deal with anything over 76. That's my concern especially with winter here now.

Lasko brand electric heaters are quiet, efficient

I like that it does an excellent job of heating my bathroom. I just set the temperature at 72 or 78 if it's really cold and my bathroom is warm and cozy. I like that it has the remote control and temperature control. it is not loud and noisy. my brother gave me my first Lasko used and it lasted a pretty long time before I had to replace it. I like that it oscillates. the price wasn't bad either.

Great heater

Received quickly and does a great job for keeping a den area warm without needing to turn the entire heating unit up when not needed. Buying another for a large bedroom that stays cool when getting ready to leave in early morning. Very warm heat quickly blows and you can set thermostat on it. Remote is handy also!

EXCELLENT HEATER

We have had an identical heater for years and love it. I purchased this one for my daughter whose bathroom is very cold. The heater really puts out a lot of heat and when we take our showers., we come out to a nice warm room. We especially like the ability to change settings as the weather changes. I would recommend it to anyone as a good buy for an excellent product.

best bargain for best heater

Ceramic tower heater Model 5538 is far superior to those available at higher prices! It is only $2-$3 more than Model on shelf at my local Walmart- It has ALL the features listed for heaters-including digital reading-and Smart Technology! Best bet is to order this Model 5538 as it is not available in store! Read the features on the different Models and you will find this is the better Model and best priced!

Good room heater, oscillates, w/remote

Had a heater tower before. Alas, its temperature control was a bimetallic switch that arced when making or breaking contact, and eventually the contacts welded together. Got this as a replacement and have been happy with it. Have a "green" setting that seems to more evenly heat the room (runs at lower fan speed, runs longer, and better gauges when to start again). The oscillation prevents it heating an area where I am not, or heating me too much when pointed in my direction. Controls are easy to understand. The remote for the old and new units are the same, except the new remote has a button to enable the green mode (forget its name). The only problem is while oscillating the unit might be facing away from where I am, so the remote is ineffective until it oscillates back to my position. That's probably due to the remote using infra-red (line-of-sight) instead of RF (wireless). Has a handle with lip onto which the remote can hang, but I leave the remote on my desk. Remote has all the same functions as the control panel atop the unit. Fan isn't too loud. Doesn't interfere with sleeping (heater is about halfway down the room from my bed's headboard). I can tell when the fan is running, but it is also easily ignored.

I use it as a garage heater...

I bought this heater to use in my garage because we have two garage cats I want to keep warm during the winter (located in Michigan) and some some stereo equipment I don't want damaged due to freezing cold temps. The garage is two-stall and probably about 400 sqft. So far the heater has worked as expected. The kitties love it; I put their bed about five feet from it and they love laying in their heated bed! The built-in thermostat (assuming it's relatively accurate) shows that it keeps the garage at a steady temperature all night long -- so far we've had outside temps in the high 20s and low 30s at night. It doesn't necessarily heat up the garage, but it keeps it at a steady temperature above freezing, which is all I wanted and expected it to do. I would imagine that it would easily heat an equally-sized room inside of a well-insulated house. I love the fact it comes with a remote because I can operate it without even going into the garage. It puts out good heat if I stand within 10 feet of it and the rotating feature helps spread the heat around. I wouldn't call the garage "toasty" but it hovers steady around 50-degrees now even when the air outside is in the lower 30s. Overall, I'd recommend this heater. It's not designed for garage use, but it works well enough for my needs. It would work well heating up a living room or bedroom, and the fact it comes with a 3-year warranty is nice -- a little peace of mind.

Decent room heater!

Can warm a room fairly quick. Daughter bedroom 12x13 with vaulted ceilings, in less than 15 minutes her room was noticeably warmer.. Remote makes it even more convienent.. My only negative in this, would be the handle.. You have to use 2 hands to carry, when you try to carry it by the handle, it's weight (not heavy at all), tilts too sharp, u have to use a second hand to stop it from slipping off your hand sideways..
