I like the variable heat settings and remote control. this unit puts out a lot of heat for it's size.I always use the ossilation feature. I advise keeping this heater at least eight feet away from you. Would be a more safer unit if it's base was larger, so care must be taken with every use. Very portable. One feature I don't use keeps temperature within three degrees, which I haven't used. I believe it saves energy.

VERY GOOD

I LIVE ON A 5tH FL. APT AND THE WINDOWS TO MY BED FACE OPEN SPACE. IT GETS SO COLD IN MY ROOM THAT I HAVE TO SLEEP WITH LAYERS OF CLOTHES ON,SOCKS ,GLOVES & A HAT. FOR THE PAST 2-3 yrs I HAVE GOTTEN VERY SICK AND BEDRIDDEN FOR UPTO 8-12 WEEKS. THIS YEAR I DECIDED TO GET A HEATER. I WENT WITH LASKO BECAUSEI HAVE SEVERAL OF THEIR FANS FOR OVER 7 yrs AND THEY ARE STILL GOING STRONG. NEEDLESS TO SAY , I AM VERY GLAD I DID. IT HEATS UP THE ROOM VERY QUICKLY AND EVENLY. I DID NOT PLACE IT ON THE FLOOR BUT ON TOP OF MY COMPUTER CABINET FACING MY BED.(THIS MAKES IT EASIER TO REACH THE SENSOR FOR THE REMOTE) THE OSCILLATING FEATURE HELPS TO EVENLY DISTRIBUTE THE HEAT IN THE ROOM. THE ADDED FEATURE OF A TIMER AND REMOTE ARE VERY CONVENIENT. THE AUTO SHUT OFF IS A BIG PLUS. VERY EASY AND LIGHT TO CARRY FROM ROOM TO ROOM,BY THE BACK INDENTATION ( ALSO HAS A PLACE TO PUT THE REMOTE) SO FAR ..I LOVE IT AND WOULD RECOMEMEND IT TO ANYONE WHO NEEDS A GOOD HEATER.

Great

These things are great. I have an old farm house so it can get pretty chilly. I have the heater set at 68 and I have one of these downstairs it keeps the chill off really well. And I have one upstairs to keep the baby warm. Warms up the room with the door shut and it'll shut off when it's at the temperature. I leave them on low at 70. I only thing I hate is that it beeps. It scares the baby if he isn't fully asleep

Performs Well, But...

The Lasko 1500w heater works well and heats a large room quickly, but all the gimmicky electronics make it difficult to get it to work the way you want to set it. My unit would only run on high speed no matter what I tried to do with the buttons on the unit and the remote. Being stuck on high, it was noisy, and not something you would want to try to sleep with in your room. Almost reminded me of someone snoring in your room while you're trying to sleep. The unit would never go to low speed automatically; it was always stuck on high speed. I could not manually override this setting, either. It also tripped the circuit breaker in an outlet strip, which tells me it was drawing an alarming amount of power for a small room heater. If you're looking for a heater that runs on high all the time and heats a room quickly, you'd be very happy with this heater. If you're looking for a heater with controls that you can set manually, look elsewhere. I ended up with a Seabreeze Thermaflo; no remote, two simple switches and a thermostat dial. It works great, and is exactly what I needed.

Worked great the first two times

I used this in our open living area in the mornings and it warmed us right up. Was quite happy for the 2 days it worked. On the third day, the digital display went all weird and wouldn't show actual numbers, and the unit would not come on no matter what we tried. Unplugged it and waited several times, but it would never work again:( Returned it to the store.

worked for a week

so this thing worked amazingly for about a week. it heated the area quickly and i could feel the powerful fan from over 7 fret away. sadly, this didnt last as roughly a week into our budding friendship, the heater stopped delivering. first, i noticed the fan wasnt as strong and i had to move it closer to my comfy chair if i wanted to feel the toasty air i had come accustomed to. next, the oscillation function decided it only wanted to work some of the time. which fine, i get it, youre a heater with a senstive stomach and get motion sickness. next, the thermostat decided 70 was as high as it was willing to go before turning off. i encouraged my new friend by setting the temperature higher to something like 80, but the heater did not fall for my tricks. the thermostat would say it was 72, and no higher. short of our goal of 80, for sure. however, my new friend was more deceiving still!! while the thermostat would read 72, it was obviously in the low 60s!! im sorry our friendship didnt work out. i just wish the heater could have been honest with me from the get-go so that way i wasnt so let down when the heater wasnt who they said they were.

Heating Up

I thought this was perfect for my family room—and it was, except that it died after two weeks. Sigh. Need to return it.

Perfect for small areas!

Perfect for a small room. Very quiet and puts out a lot of heat. I love that you can set your temperature so it's not running nonstop. It also has a timer you can set also.

tower heater

This heater is used to preheat the bathroom before showering in the colder weather. It throws off a wonderful amount of heat and does not have to be on for extended periods of time. Great purchase.

We use this in our living room for when our baby plays on the floor. We've left it on for hours. It does get warm, the wire gets warm. It's been great and I love that it oscillates. We unplug it when not in use.
