This is an excellent heater. It gives out a lot of heat and warms up quickly. Oscillates and a handy remote control. Quite happy with it.

Excellent product.....

Love the heater.  Great space saver.  This heater heats up the room in about an hour or less.  No problems with it at all.

Works well, though it does not display the current temperature on the display like my old Holmes did.

The remote makes it very easy to use.  The temperature setting will shut down the heater when reached so you don't over heat the room.  Great heater.

Love this heater

Was very hopeful, but ended up disappointed. We have always used a Lasko heaters and been very pleased, but this one did not meet the standard. The plug and cord became VERY hot to the touch. This was not due to a faulty outlet. We plugged it into the same outlet we have used each winter for the last 15 years with other Lasko heaters. Obviously a faulty heater.

This Lasko heater fell short of past Lasko heaters

I live in a high rise with an HVAC system.  When it died and there was a 2  month delivery delay for a replacement I bought this Lasko 5538 heater and it has been great. It easily heated a 600 sq ft area.  I haven't used the remote, no need to, and I usually run it on Hi to start and turn down to Low as soon as the area warms enough.  Initially I was concerned that the plug got really hot if run very long on Hi but the FAQ section on the Lasko website said that was normal.  The oscillating feature spreads the heat throughout the room avoiding hot/cold spots and the fan is strong enough to spread heat a good distance from it.  It is quiet, so much so that I forget it is running.  It is light weight and easy to carry from room to room if needed.  Overall, I am very happy with the purchase and it saved me on some cold mornings when my central HVAC heat unit wasn't working.  Yes I would buy it again and recommend to a friend.  This review is not part of a promotion. I reviewed it because it is a good buy and I hope the info I provided is helpful when you are looking for a good quality and safe space heater.
