Customer ratings & reviews forGreat taste, great value, endless possibilities!
My family have been literally eating these fries for a few days straight in a row now! I wanted to make sure I got to taste enough of the product to make an accurate, honest, and unbiased review. First off, the description is accurate and on point for this item. You get (6) individual bags of French fries, each bag is 5-lbs. I would like to add that the bags are not resealable bags but that isn't a problem for me. Since we've been having a French fries marathon lately, we've done different things with it, we threw it in the air fryer on the French fries pre-setting at 400 degrees for 15 minutes. We've even tried it in the oven at 425 degrees for 30 minutes. These are only our experiences and our own preferences. I didn't want to bring out my deep fryer or pot and I'm trying to limit as much oil as possible so that's why I've chosen these alternatives for cooking. However, we've gotten great tasty results with these methods. These French fries have a crunchy exterior and a light, fluffy interior! With the amount you get of this product, there are endless possibilities you can do besides just having your fries dipped in ketchup. Our favorite is applying chili and cheese on top to make our own Chili Cheese Fries!! I also like to make my own dipping sauce to go along with these fries. Who really wants just plain fries? I know not in this house! The only downside to this is the cooking method. I would have hope that there was more cooking options provided instead of just deep frying. Especially since so many household own a air fryer so having an option to cook it in there would have been awesome. Also another great option would be oven directions. These two options leave for a much healthier alternative and less oil consumed. Overall, we are enjoying these fries and we are thinking outside the box of how else we can incorporate them, even into an actual meal itself. After all, it's raining fries in our household. I would recommend this product if you have a big family or event, looking to get the most value for your money and/or just a fries lover! Happiness is French Fries.
Crispy, Crunchy, and Tasty
Members Mark has done it again. I always try any Members Mark product to be sure I am getting the best deal. And while they don't always hit the "Mark" haha this time they got it right. These fries are just as good as any name brand for a MUCH better price. There is not much to say as they are fries, but as the title states, they are crispy, crunchy, and tasty. I used an air fryer for mine and they came out perfect every single time. Save some money; buy these if you are looking for a good partner for your burgers and dogs or whatever.
Quality way above what the price would indicate
We usually buy other brand fries and I am not always impressed by the results. But these fries are so good and cook really well. I did them in the air fryer and oven on convect and they came out really good. This is a really big box of fries and a really good value. These are the best frozen fries I have made. No instruction on the box for cooking but I used the Fries setting on my air fryer and it worked well.
Love!
I admit to being totally shocked and pleasantly surprised by the quality of the fries. These are all top quality - there are no "bits and pieces" but rather long, plump and intact fries. They came out of the air fryer absolutely delicious. Just the way we like them. Crispy on the outside and soft inside. I've used them with the traditional ketchup but also with chili fries, cheesy fries and in place of nacho chips with a nacho type of topping all over a tray of fries for movie night. I'd also highly recommend something else you can buy at Sam's to give the fries a great seasoned taste (which is my preference). Get the Tone's French Fry Seasoning, sprinkle it on top and prepare to swoon. Because there are so many fries in the package, I've had a field day inventing new recipes including air frying them first, gently mashing them and then throwing them on the griddle for a hashbrowns type of side for breakfast. That makes little crunchy potato bits mixed in alongside the softer potato. DELICIOUS. I've also used the same mashing method to put a dollop of potato in cupcake pans, top with a bit of Canadian Bacon (also a Sam's favorite buy) and an egg before baking them as a breakfast treat. Indulge yourself and make a quick hollandaise sauce to pour over them once they are plated. These fries are simply wonderful and think out of the box... the Large Box because fries aren't just for ketchup anymore.
Great value.
Bought these for a survey. We love fries! Very good deal. Comes in 30# box, 6 -5# bags. Bags are NOT resealable which would be a plus unless you are making a mega amount of fries at a time. 2 or 2.5 # bags would be better. Very good flavor, we fried in oil this time. Did not try baking, but I expect to turn out well.
Restaurant style at home
I'm so glad that I decided to try these. They are the closest I've come to restaurant style fries at home. I deep fried them and added fry seasoning and they came out great. I'm going to try air frying next. Everything from the texture...to the cut...to the taste....perfection!
French Fried
I wasn't really sure what to expect out of these fries, but I was surprised which the quality of the this product. The taste was better than expected and I liked the fact that the fries were long length. If I had to pick a comp for the taste, I'd go with Wendy's or a hole-in-the-wall burger joint. C-Had them with Po-Boys; perfect side! As far as bang for the buck- definitely a score there, as I didn't realize exactly how much I was getting. There are 6 5-pound bags which were all full and now so is my freezer. If you are having a gathering and need some fries, these would be the item to get.
Very Good, Restaurant Quality French Fries
Normally, I wouldn't buy a 30-pound case of any consumables, but I'm glad I gave these a try. They're consistent, crispy, delicious, and affordable. I tried them plain, with seasoning, and with ketchup, and they were exactly what I wanted: delicious and simple. I'd expect this type of product to be served at any sit-down restaurant that doesn't specialize in French Fries (and only because I think specialty fries should be abnormal in some way). Would purchase again, if I have the freezer space!
Solid purchase
I am a big fan of the simplicity of French fries in the air fryer. If you are fond of fries in this fashion, these crisp up nicely. I would say they did not have flavor that distinguishes them from other frozen potato products, such as a seasoned fry or tater tot. As with most things purchased in bulk, the good is that you can get a lot of product, but the fact that you get a lot of product can be problematic if you don't have adequate storage. This would be great if one had a small restaurant, but for a single family the 30 pound box was too much. I gifted some of the 5 pound bags to family members to enjoy and still felt like I got a lot of product for the money. All things considered, this was a positive purchase.
Fryer Only Fries
I have mixed feelings about these fries. They taste great, they are high quality, and are a bargain for the amount you get! These fries really do seem restaurant quality. They are pretty uniform and there aren't a bunch of broken pieces or tiny scraps in the bag. The value is awesome and I appreciated that there are 6 bags inside the box so everything stays sealed and easy to use. It says online that these can be prepared in an air fryer or deep fried. The box lists only the deep fry method. I tried air frying these fries and they do not turn out well at all, no matter what temp I cooked them. They either burn at the ends and steam in the middle or they steam and never crisp up. I tried them several times at varying temps and nothing worked. Air frying was my choice (we don't use a deep fryer at home) and I know that the box didn't say to use an air fryer, so I admit that it's my own fault these didn't work for me. However, I wanted to be honest and hopefully prevent someone from making the same mistake. I'll stick to bakeable fries.
