I am a Michelin fan, believer . I drove 36' diesel RVs, pick trucks, cars for over 50 years. Never any other tire beat Michelin for quality, durability, reliability, performance. The Defender were installed 6 months ago and provide me total satisfaction and are not noisy at all. I have driven over 1 million miles so far in my driving years,Michelin is the best. I am now looking for winter tires....obviously Michelin products.

I was looking for a long wearing tire that had a comfortable ride. Of course a reasonable price was a goal as well. The Michelin Defender met those needs in an outstanding manner. I installed 4 of them on both of our cars and we couldn't be happier with them.

I have been Very Satisfied with my 215 60 16 95T BMichelin Defender 14026 set of Tires! I have noticed better gas mileage, ride comfortabily / stability, and shorter breaking times. In addition, During a recent ice storm my 2004 Ford Tauras was better able to negociate an icy upgrade. Enabling me to reach the top of a hilly road and get to a parking lot. Due to this I was able to avoid getting hit. I watched multiple chain-reaction accidents from the safety of the parking lot. Then assisted others drivers as they attempted to reach safety on foot. Abandoning their vehicals and navigating the icy road & sidewalk on foot!

I have to say, that these tires are the best I have ever purchased/owned! While I have only had them for few months I have found their performance to be above average! They handle great in wet road conditions and they are blessedly silent! Thanks Michelin, you have one satisfied customer here!

Last November (2012) I put new Defenders on my 2002 Corolla S. My daily commute averages about 30 miles each way, 30% city / 70% highway. At this point, I have driven on them around 17,000 miles and through winter, spring, and summer. I have rotated them once, around 10,000. They are wearing well and very evenly. It took awhile for them to get "broken-in", if that's the right way to put it. I was a bit concerned at first, when they were getting 1-2 mpg less than my previous Tiger Paws. But on my longer road trips this summer (100% highway), I again reached my peak mileage of 42 mpg. And I have no complaints at all about overall handling in various conditions. I live in the midwest, in the Kansas City area, where we do experience pretty much the whole range of weather and road conditions: cold and hot, wet and dry, snow and ice. If I were pressed for a complaint, I'd say (only half-heartedly), they can seem a little bit loud at times. Overall, I'm very happy with my Defenders and look forward to riding them as close to their 90,000-mile rating as I can.

I purchased my defenders and have noticed a big difference in my gas mileage just from the use and keeping my tires balanced and rotated. I was leaning toward a cheaper tire and now I know with the money I am saving in gas mileage I will have the best tire at the cheaper rate! Thank you Defender!

Tires are on my 2004 VW Passat with 118,000 miles on it. I expect the new Defender tires to be the last (or next to last) tires I have to put on the car. The car holds the road noticeably better. My wife even commented on how much better the car holds the road. The stopping distance also seems to be shorter and more secure. The only negative is that the road noise is somewhat louder and the ride is a little harsher. Initially, that bothered me, but because of the 30 days allowed to return the tires under Michelin's warrantee, I decided to wait a couple of weeks to see if I got used to the noise and ride before deciding to keep the tires or not. Within the first two or three weeks, after driving in the rain, in heavy traffic, fast, slow, and on various road surfaces, I decided that the trade off of better road grip and shorter stopping distances more than make up for a bit more road noise and harder ride.

At first, I didn't understand why some people said these tires were noisy. I thought maybe they had lemons. After almost a year of use - with regular tire service and rotations, I came to understand. It is almost impossible to hear the radio or hold a conversation while driving on highways or interstates, which is the mainstay of my driving. In city, below 45 mph, they aren't bad, other than that, the noise is ear numbing! I still have plenty of wear of them, but I can't take the noise any longer. Tomorrow, I'm getting them off my van and getting something else.

The defender was recommended to replace my Michelin Hydro Edge tires on my Mitsubishi Eclipse. My Hydro Edge's had completed their mission and it was time for new tires. When i first drove the car out of the tire store, I was amazed by the difference with a smoother ride and handling of the defender tires. I would highly recommend the defender and will purchase them to replace my tires on my Honda Accord when the time comes.

These tires replaced a set of 4 Michelin HydroEdge on a '08 Chrysler Sebring. I originally purchased the HydroEdge because of their superior water performance, high mileage and quiet comfortable ride. They really delivered except for mileage......the first Michelin's that didnt come close to their rating. I went for the Defenders because of the 90k rating, but after over 9k of driving must say that they handle better and ride at least as good as the HydroEdge. Although too early to tell how they will wear, with over 9k miles, they still look unworn. Very firm ride.....excellent in snow and rain, and they ride very very quiet. These are better than I expected. Highly recommend.
