I have about 6000 miles on these tires and the tread looks much like new still. I purchased these in early Spring and had a late snow, the tires did well in this wet snow but not as well as my Winter tires would have. I am a spirited driver who was unhappy with my warmer month tires before but now with the Defenders I am a happy driver again. My old tires would easily loose grip in hard cornering, the Defenders love to be cornered hard. The Defenders slice through puddles without jerking the car violently or hydroplaning, expressway speeds in rain feel very safe. A few days ago a deer stepped out in the road in front of me and I jammed the brakes on, I was impressed on how little my anti-lock system had to work with these tires, the car stopped much shorter than my old tires would have. Road noise is an area where my review would be mixed. These tires can be very quiet on some roads and get kinda noisy on others. These are tires well worth using, if you find one of those noisy roads, turn the music up and enjoy.

Had these tires for about 2 months. These tires are not a great tires to get good gas mileage. My miles per gallon has drop from 3 to 5 mpg. City driving or highway driving doesn't matter. Tried different types of gas, drove in warm and cool weather , doesn't matter. Haven't had any noise problem. Handling wasn't a problem either. If you are looking for a tire that gives you great gas mileage, buy a different tire.

I purchased a New 2010 Ford Explorer Sport Trac Limited 4X4 and the MICHELIN Defender Tires came on the vehicle. I have had absolutely TROUBLE FREE use of these outstanding tires from mile "1" to mile "16,300" and still going strong. They are wonderful when it comes to road handling in just about every weather condition imaginable. Highly Reccomend these Upscale Tires for your vehicle.

I have been purchasing Michelin tires for the past 35 years and have never been disappointed in their performance. So far I have 20K miles in my Defender's and they look like they were put on my car last week. When ever I know someone who is buying tires, I recommend Michelin. I am looking forward to getting my 90K++ miles out of this set.

I put 4 new Defenders on my minivan because the ones before showed cracking. The ride was noisy and bumpy before with the old cracked tires (a different brand). The ride with the Michelins is less bumpy and noisy. Much smoother and way less road noise. These are worth every penny just for the ride improvement. Don't know if its the tire or the nitrogen in the tire. Thank you.

I bought the Defender series for my Scion XB. I have seen a 2 to 3 mpg increase in my mileage and the ride has improved as well. What I really like the most is that there hasn't been any weather where this tire doesn't perform. Snow or pouring rain the car handles great and there is no feeling of steering loss. My wife's car is due for tires and we will be replacing hers with the Defender series as well. Just an all around great tire!

My Nissan Sentra had been going through tires at the rate of complete replacement after 20-25K miles so I wanted a good riding tire that would last. When I was offered the Michelin Defenders with a 90K warranty I was delighted. I have had Michelin tires on other cars I have owned and they wear well, give a smooth and stiff ride, and last much longer than tires from other manufacturers. I have put 7K miles on these tires so far and they have held up well looking practically new as when i purchased them. I expect them to last as long as I own the car and that will make the cost very reasonable as compared to replacing the other brand of tires that came with the car so often.

I have been buying Michelin long milage tires since 2003. I just put Defenders on two of my cars, and when my other two are ready for tires, they will get Defenders as well. I am very happy with Michelin performance and longevity. Thank you Michelin Man.

These tires came factory on my 2010 Mercury Milan and after 32,000 miles they still don't show very much wear. I would say at this rate, I won't need to buy tires till at least 2016. But when I do need to get new ones... Michelin Defenders is what I will definitely buy! Thank you for making such a great tire.

Put Defenders on 2008 Rav4 . Have 15,000 miles on them. Nice quiet, smooth tires. Are wearing very good. I don't understand so many negative reviews. Has manufacture of them improved since bad reviews? Or haven't I used long enough? I will update my opinion with time and mileage. Still on my list to buy again.
