I've had the Forerunner 55 for a few weeks now and have loved the simplicity of the watch and the simple syncing with the Connect IQ app. I've used the GPS watch to track numerous activities - hiking, cycling, even sailing on my Sunfish. Very pleased with the watch!

I had watched a youtube video on how to use the watch before I received it and it was just as easy as I expected to set up and go on my first run! I had been using the apple watch till now and was always frustrated at doing distances over 10 miles or activities over 90 min because the watch would die but the forerunner 55 has fantastic battery life. It does everything most runners or cyclists would want, and besides the lack of a hiking feature or power metrics, it's great

This watch has everything I need to track my runs and bike rides. The sensors are really handy and easy to use. The GPS works great and syncs with my Strava. The incident detection is a handy tool but I have accidentally activated twice while riding my bike so I have to be more careful.

I was advised to get a fitness tracker for taking walks 2x per day that kept my heartrate between 110 and 120bpm. I tried several cheaper watches that all seemed to have issues of one kind or another. Out of the box, this watch has a learning curve, but I was able to program it to suit me and it is the most reliable watch I've tried. I had to play around with face displays to find what was readable. Once I found that, everything else has been great. I'm dealing with contrast problems for reading so I'm sure most people can find a face display they are happy with easier than me. If I take my phone with me when using the app, it gives me audible updates so I don't have to keep looking at the watch. This is helpful when walking outside in temperatures that require bundling up. Overall, this is the perfect watch for what I do. There are lots of exercise modes available so you're not stuck with only an outdoor walking mode.

I bought this watch about a month ago and absolutely love it! The training feature is awesome and I love how accurate the step counter is. I had the Forerunner 35 previous to this and it was great, but this watch is just off the charts good! As a runner, I love the feedback and versatility of the workout features. The connection and reaction times are terrific. The battery life is decent. Overall, a wonderful watch for the price and I strongly recommend to anyone.

I bought tte Forerunner35 a few years ago and it worked great. I upgraded to the 55 less than a year ago. In less than 6 months the watch stopped connecting to my phone/computer. After 2 sessions of 2 1/2 hrs on chat support it was finally determined that the watch was not fixable and a replacement would be sent. I received the replacement of a refurbished watch for a watch that was not even a year old. The refurbished watch’s battery lasts for only 24 hrs. My old watch battery would last for 1-2 weeks depending on how much GPS I used. It’s useless. Now I’ll need to go through the whole process over again to get another replacement. If the next replacement has issues as well I’m never choosing Garmin again. It’s not worth the hours of headache. Sorry Garmin, I want to like you but you are making it very hard!

I bought the 55 last month to replace another smart watch that had a very short battery life and have been really happy with the forerunner. I was looking for a watch that tracked workouts accurately, lasts for over a week between charges, and has metrics. This checked all the boxes for me and was better for me than a more advanced smart watch.

This is my second Garmin running watch and, so far, I love it! The battery seems to last a for several runs and it has the features I need to track my runs. I only use it for running because it does not have a basic workout tracker and I don't want to keep messing with a watch in the middle of a strength training workout to record reps and other data. I would recommend this watch for runners who need a basic gps watch. This one does not have the crazy battery and update issues my Vivoactive 3 had. I never knew when I turned it one whether it would be at 0% or 99%, or if it would spend 10 minutes updating and running the battery down. I hope this one keeps working as great as it has so far!

The watch is great and has all the features I wanted. It is easy to use and the screens are simple to navigate. My only complaint is that the GPS takes longer to connect than my previous watch. I sync the GPS before every run, but it still takes longer than I expected.

I bought the watch less than a month ago and it abruptly stopped working. I follow all of the trouble shooting options and watch never worked. For as much as the watch cost I really thought it was going to be a great product. Very upset especially when I have had friends with Garmin watches that were great. Returned for full refund…I don’t think I will get the watch again
